Fujifilm Instax Vegas Trip

1024 733 Sheridan Gregory

If you follow along on Instagram, you probably saw my Las Vegas adventure with Fujifilm Instax for our #InstaxUSTour. Honestly, this trip was one of the best trips I’ve ever been on! We were completely spoiled & I got to experience it all with some amazing babes who went from strangers to friends in a matter of hours. Seriously though, everyone we met kept asking how long we had been friends for & were shocked when we said less than 24 hours haha!

I’ve been obsessed with Fujifilm Instax cameras for years (who doesn’t love those cute Instax photos!?) & I loved that we were able to bring ours all around the city & snap fun photos of our trip. As you can see from these photos, we had the privilege of doing some incredible activities! The Neon Sign Museum & The Billboard Awards were 2 things that I was able to check off my bucket list & both were more incredible than I could have imagined!

I hope you enjoy these photos from our adventure in Vegas with Fujifilm Instax! Special thanks to The Palms for hosting us in a killer 2-story suite with a private pool, STK for the yummiest food, the Neon Museum for the best photo shoot, Grand Canyon Airlines for the coolest tour AND of course Fujifilm Instax for the BEST TRIP!!

Life Updates & Disneyland

1024 683 Sheridan Gregory

The past two weeks have been nuts! So many different things have been going on from family in town to doctors appointments that I figured I would just give you a little update.

Malibu Farm

I’ve had multiple doctors appointments, ultrasounds & CT scans for random lumps & bumps that my doctors discovered over the past few months. Don’t worry, everything is looking good! I just have to monitor them & go back in another 3-6 months to make sure they’re not growing. For now, though, they all have remained the same size & are benign. A little PSA for all you girls & women out there, make sure & stay up on your annual check ups & breast checks with your OBGYN. I know so many girls my age who have had lumps found in their breasts & while most of them are benign, it’s important to find those things early just in case they could be something more serious. Not trying to scare you at all, just trying to encourage you all to stay up on your appointments because I was pretty bad at staying up on mine until I got pregnant with Kannon 🙂

My brother & sister in law were in town last week with their three kids & we had the best time. We miss them so much now that they live in Utah & any chance we can all get together is the best. We spent a couple of days at Disneyland, which was so exciting but also SO exhausting. I always forget how tiring multiple days at Disneyland are! Don’t get me wrong, I love Disneyland more than most but it’s a lot of walking around with multiple kids in tow. I loved that we split up the days though so we only went to one park per day instead of park hopping both days. We also spent a day in Malibu and if you guys follow us on social media, you know that Malibu is one of our favorite places to go during Spring/Summer. I highly recommend eating at Malibu Farm on the pier & doing a beach day either before or after. Make sure & bring a sweater/jacket though because it can get cold on the pier with the wind.

California Adventure California Adventure Main Street

I think we all suffered from exhaustion from everything that we did last week because our entire little family ended up with the flu for the past 5 days. That probably has to do with our immune systems being down from lack of sleep &, not the healthiest diet (who can turn down churros at Disneyland!? Not this girl!). All in all, though, we’ve been having far too much fun & are ready to be back to “normal life” for the next couple of weeks before our next trip 🙂

How We Road Trip With Kids

Road trips are basically in my blood at this point. Growing up, we took so many road trips as a family that I honestly couldn’t count if I tried. Later on, as a teenager, I continued the tradition & took a lot of road trips with friends. While some people loathe road trips, I personally think they’re some of the best adventures! Taking road trips with 2 kids under 4 (or children in general) might sound daunting, we always have a fun adventure & make so many fun memories.

We get asked all the time how our boys do on long drives &, to be honest, they do really well! Our secret? We just prep them young haha. From the time they are born, we get them used to their car seats. I mean, why not get them used to things they’ll be sitting in for the next 7-8 years of their lives? It honestly makes life so much easier for those times when you have to be in the car for an extended period of time. When they’re really young, though make sure you don’t have them in their car seats for too long of stretches (it can give them a flat skull) & make sure they’re not napping in them unsupervised (they can stop breathing).

Another thing I highly recommend is to have lots of snacks & “checkpoints”. My mom came up with the “checkpoint system” when we were kids. I’m sure all of you road tripping kids had something similar! & every hour (if we behaved well), we were able to choose a little treat. If you don’t want to give your kids sugar, I highly suggest going to the dollar store or checking out Target’s dollar section & picking out little toys or coloring books that they can play with. The key is to keep them occupied & looking forward to something so they’re not constantly whining or asking, “are we there yet!?”

The last thing I recommend for road trips (& the thing that makes them the best adventures), is to take your time! If the kids are getting cranky, stop & let them stretch their legs. Sure, it takes longer that way but trust me, those times will probably be some of your favorite moments. I have so many memories of Kannon running around & having fun in the most random places on road trips. You would be surprised how much fun you can have in the middle of nowhere if you just stop stressing about getting to the destination & make it an adventure 🙂

Do you have any road trip tips? Let me know in the comments below!

20 Small Ways to be Healthier in 2017

1024 683 Sheridan Gregory

One thing about being a mom, or a working woman in general, is that health can unfortunately fall to the end of the priority list. I try to eat clean for the most part, but I’m also too lenient with myself. Since I want to raise health-conscious boys and feel good for myself, I’m incorporating small things throughout my day that lead to improvement. Every little thing counts when it comes to health, and by starting small, hopefully these turn into bigger habits. Here are 20 things I’m currently working on:

Kings Canyon Family DayThe Gregory Family Kings Canyon Winter _gsl3645 _gsl3739 _gsl3721 _gsl3668 _gsl3680 _gsl3655 _gsl3759 _gsl36381.) Add a large handful of spinach to my morning smoothie or eggs.

2.) Drink a cup of water right when I wake up.

3.) Start with 10 minutes of exercise 4x a week, and increase the time gradually.

4.) Keep healthy backup options in our freezer (brown rice and veggies for stir fry, whole wheat bread and tortillas, ground turkey (or veggie crumbles) for pasta, frozen kale for smoothies, etc.).

5.) Sip on hot lemon water in the morning before eating.

6.) Add vegetables to each meal.

7.) Save sugar for a couple times a week.

8.) Make a big healthy crockpot meal each week, freeze leftovers.

9.) Meal plan.

10.) Stretch with the boys.

11.) Drink sparkling water instead of soda.

12.) Swap a lettuce wrap for a sandwich once a week.

13.) Try a new fitness class once a month. Perfect for a date day or time with girlfriends!

14.) Use Instacart for healthy ingredients if I can’t get to the grocery (instead of takeout).

15.) Set an alarm for every hour to get up, walk around, have some water.

16.) Do morning dance parties with the boys to get moving. Or whenever we need energy.

17.) Take a daily probiotic and vitamin.

18.) Use less salt.

19.) Read motivational blogs or listen to podcasts when I’m feeling lazy.

20.) Prioritize sleep! Set an alarm for an hour before bed to turn off tech, do my nightly routine, and get into bed with a book.

What small things do you incorporate to feel healthy? I’d love to hear in the comments below!

(I wish my other sister could have joined as well but she just had a baby. Next time, Brynna!!)

The trip was such a great time & I loved showing Hendrix around for the first time since being out of my belly 🙂 It was such an odd feeling being back in the neighborhood we lived in for the beginning of this year. While I was so ready to come home to have Hendrix, I kind of miss living in NYC! There is just something magical about the big city & I will always love being there. Who knows, maybe one day we will end up back there for a little while again!
I hope you enjoyed this video & the photos of our trip! If you’re headed to NYC anytime soon, make sure & check out my favorite places to eat HERE!

Life has been insane lately! As you’re reading this, I’m probably on a flight to NYC! Prepping for NYFW is always a bit nuts, but since I’m bringing Hendrix along with me this time, it’s been even more crazy because of all the extras I need to pack. I know some people think us bloggers are crazy when we bring our babies/kids along to things like NYFW but I’m just not ready to be away from Hendrix yet. Let’s be honest, I still don’t like leaving Kannon & he’s 3 1/2 sooo.. Leaving my kids behind will probably only happen when it has to happen 🙂

I am so incredibly excited to be heading to NYFW again & this time I’m headed there with an amazing brand! I can’t wait to share behind the scenes photos & videos so make sure you’re following along on all social media (links are in my side bar or @blueeyedfinch across the board:))! My mom & sister are also coming with me so we will be having a fun little adventure aside from all of the fashion week madness. NYC, here we come!!!

NYC Kids Guide

NYC Kids Guide

1024 683 Sheridan Gregory

For the past 4 months, we’ve been living in NYC & having the biggest adventure of our lives. There is something so energizing & vibrant about this city that is completely contagious for the whole family. Also, there are about one million activities & places to occupy your time with! Some of you might have the misconception that NYC isn’t child friendly (I know that I did for a time!) but I’m hear to tell you that there are so many fun activities & places you can take your kids for hours of entertainment. With the help of a good stroller (we took our Chicco Viaro all over the city!), you can literally go just about anywhere to explore. After 4 months of exploring, I’ve put together (with the help of my 3 year old son, of course) a NYC City Guide for all of you! While there are so many more things to do & see, these are our all-time favorite kid, parent & stroller approved activities in NYC!NYC Fire Museum1.) NYC Fire Museum
278 Spring St, New York, NY 10013

If your little one is as obsessed with fire trucks as ours is, this is a must stop! Honestly though, even if your little one isn’t pointing out every fire truck they see on the street & frequenting the local fire department, this would be a fun outing for them. There is so much to see there! It’s open 7 days a week (except major holidays) 10am to 5pm & is $8 for adults, $5 for children 12 & under (kids under 2 are free), seniors & students with ID’sNYC Chelsea Piers Chelsea Piers2.) Chelsea Piers
60 Chelsea Piers, New York, NY 10011

Whether it’s freezing outside, raining or a perfect sunny day, Chelsea Piers is one of the most entertaining places in the city! There are literally so many things to do here, from the driving range to the indoor ice skating rink to the toddler gym, there is something for every member of your family.NYC Natural History Museum3.) American Museum of Natural History
Central Park West 79th St, New York, NY 10024

I’m sure everyone of you has heard of this museum but if you haven’t actually been there, go immediately! This is another one that is perfect for adults & children alike. Our favorite were the dinosaur exhibits (our little one is going through a dinosaur phase & he was entertained for hours). There is so much to see that you could spend a full day here if you wanted or you could go for a half day & then head directly across the street to explore Central Park. Also, we loved that this museum is completely stroller friendly! A few museums we have gone to don’t allow strollers in a lot of places & that makes life difficult when you’re trying to get from exhibit to exhibit with a tired little one. There is an entrance on the side specifically for strollers/wheelchairs so you don’t have to climb the steps out front & fold up your stroller to get it through the door (although the first time we went, we didn’t know this. Luckily, our Chicco Viaro is SO light & can be folded with one hand (honestly, the greatest feature, especially for us moms when we have a toddler running around)!Brooklyn Bridge Chicco Viaro Review4.) Brooklyn Bridge

The first time we went to Brooklyn, we walked across the bridge & it quickly became one of our favorite activities! Kannon sat comfortably in the stroller the entire way & even took a little nap before we got to the other side to play at the park & grab some yummy food. Thank goodness for a comfy stroller when you’re out & about exploring NYC because it honestly makes naptime the easiest thing in the world! Your little one will always be comfortable because the Viaro features EPS energy-absorbing foam as well as a five-point harness (no little ones will be escaping this one J). Plus, I am obsessed with how large the storage bin under our Chicco Viaro is because you can fit everything you need for a day out around the city & you have access to it from both the front & back of the stroller!Chelsea Market Chicco Viaro Travel System NYC Guide for Kids Chelsea Market Flowers5.) The High Line & Chelsea Market
820 Washington St, New York, NY 10014

One of our absolute favorite things to do was head to The High Line & walk around (aka let Kannon run around until he wore himself out!) & then we would head below to Chelsea Market for some yummy food. There are so many different places to eat in Chelsea Market & they even have a little market where you can grab some fresh produce & go have a little snack up on The High Line. I seriously suggest trying out the fresh Italian food or the taco place! While Chelsea Market can be crowded, I love that our Chicco Viaro maneuvers easily around city blocks with its 3-wheel design & the ergonomically designed handle (which is padded so it’s extremely comfy to push around) makes it so easy to weave in & around people so you’re not running into anyone.

6.) Ferry to Statue of Liberty
Liberty Island, New York, NY 10004

While this is one of the most talked about tourist attractions in NYC, it’s a must do/see! A ferry ride is so fun for the kids & it makes it a perfect day activity. I would highly suggest that you check out the weather before booking though! We went on a gloomy day & while we still enjoyed the experience, it would have been much warmer on the ferry if it was a sunny day. City weather can sometimes be unpredictable, but the multi-position canopy offers maximum protection from the sun, wind and cold. This is the best canopy too because it actually clicks so that it doesn’t go flying up if the wind hits it. Be forewarned though that climbing the steps in the actual Statue of Liberty is very hot & such a small space! That’s the one part of the tour that you can’t take a stroller but other than that, we were so happy to have our Chicco Viaro with us because it’s the one stroller that Kannon will happily stay in, especially with the snack tray attached with a few yummy (& healthy!) snacks J

I hope you guys enjoyed this little city guide we put together for you & your kiddos! While there are so many incredible things to do in NYC, these are our absolute favorite options that are stroller friendly! & let’s be honest, everything is easier when you have a good stroller with you J For those of you in the market for a new stroller, I highly suggest this one! The Viaro Travel System is available at ChiccoShop.com and Babies “R” Us for a suggested retail price of $349.99. The stand-alone stroller can be purchased for $199.99.NYC Kids Guide

Braided Bun Dainty Gold Necklace Mom Style Lanterns in the sky Toddler Style Rise Festival Floating LanternsIf you’ve been following along for awhile, you know that I am all about easy hairstyles. There are those days when I honestly just don’t have the time to worry about my hair & let’s be honest, those days happen far too often over here. I thought I would share one of my new favorites ways to wear my hair & I hope you guys enjoy this easy braided bun tutorial as much as I do 🙂 Also, these photos were taken at The Rise Festival last year & I never had the chance to post them because I got so sick. This was the day that we found out I was pregnant with baby #2 & it was just so perfect to get to go send up lanterns into the sky. If you’ve ever seen the Disney film, Tangled, you know exactly what I’m talking about! If you haven’t seen that movie, let’s just pretend I’m not a 25 year old who still watches Disney films 😉

When we heard the blizzard was going to hit NYC, we were actually pretty excited. While most were trying to catch flights out of town or go into hibernation in their apartments, we were ready to have some snowball fights. This was the first NYC blizzard we have experienced while actually living here (duh, we have only lived here for 2 1/2 weeks) but it’s actually the second blizzard me & Adam have experienced here in NYC. It’s honestly incredible to experience because the whole city shuts down & you are able to just walk around in the middle of the streets while it’s snowing down on you!  We were staying in a hotel at this time so we would run outside & play for 10 minutes & then run back inside to get warm (our SoCal blood clearly isn’t used to cold weather :)) We had so much fun & will look back on these photos years down the road & remember our first crazy week living here in NYC with the best memories. I hope you guys enjoyed these photos & that those of you who experienced storm Jonas were all safe. Thankful the weather has warmed up now!
