Life has been insane lately! As you’re reading this, I’m probably on a flight to NYC! Prepping for NYFW is always a bit nuts, but since I’m bringing Hendrix along with me this time, it’s been even more crazy because of all the extras I need to pack. I know some people think us bloggers are crazy when we bring our babies/kids along to things like NYFW but I’m just not ready to be away from Hendrix yet. Let’s be honest, I still don’t like leaving Kannon & he’s 3 1/2 sooo.. Leaving my kids behind will probably only happen when it has to happen 🙂

I am so incredibly excited to be heading to NYFW again & this time I’m headed there with an amazing brand! I can’t wait to share behind the scenes photos & videos so make sure you’re following along on all social media (links are in my side bar or @blueeyedfinch across the board:))! My mom & sister are also coming with me so we will be having a fun little adventure aside from all of the fashion week madness. NYC, here we come!!!

NYC Kids Guide

NYC Kids Guide

1024 683 Sheridan Gregory

For the past 4 months, we’ve been living in NYC & having the biggest adventure of our lives. There is something so energizing & vibrant about this city that is completely contagious for the whole family. Also, there are about one million activities & places to occupy your time with! Some of you might have the misconception that NYC isn’t child friendly (I know that I did for a time!) but I’m hear to tell you that there are so many fun activities & places you can take your kids for hours of entertainment. With the help of a good stroller (we took our Chicco Viaro all over the city!), you can literally go just about anywhere to explore. After 4 months of exploring, I’ve put together (with the help of my 3 year old son, of course) a NYC City Guide for all of you! While there are so many more things to do & see, these are our all-time favorite kid, parent & stroller approved activities in NYC!NYC Fire Museum1.) NYC Fire Museum
278 Spring St, New York, NY 10013

If your little one is as obsessed with fire trucks as ours is, this is a must stop! Honestly though, even if your little one isn’t pointing out every fire truck they see on the street & frequenting the local fire department, this would be a fun outing for them. There is so much to see there! It’s open 7 days a week (except major holidays) 10am to 5pm & is $8 for adults, $5 for children 12 & under (kids under 2 are free), seniors & students with ID’sNYC Chelsea Piers Chelsea Piers2.) Chelsea Piers
60 Chelsea Piers, New York, NY 10011

Whether it’s freezing outside, raining or a perfect sunny day, Chelsea Piers is one of the most entertaining places in the city! There are literally so many things to do here, from the driving range to the indoor ice skating rink to the toddler gym, there is something for every member of your family.NYC Natural History Museum3.) American Museum of Natural History
Central Park West 79th St, New York, NY 10024

I’m sure everyone of you has heard of this museum but if you haven’t actually been there, go immediately! This is another one that is perfect for adults & children alike. Our favorite were the dinosaur exhibits (our little one is going through a dinosaur phase & he was entertained for hours). There is so much to see that you could spend a full day here if you wanted or you could go for a half day & then head directly across the street to explore Central Park. Also, we loved that this museum is completely stroller friendly! A few museums we have gone to don’t allow strollers in a lot of places & that makes life difficult when you’re trying to get from exhibit to exhibit with a tired little one. There is an entrance on the side specifically for strollers/wheelchairs so you don’t have to climb the steps out front & fold up your stroller to get it through the door (although the first time we went, we didn’t know this. Luckily, our Chicco Viaro is SO light & can be folded with one hand (honestly, the greatest feature, especially for us moms when we have a toddler running around)!Brooklyn Bridge Chicco Viaro Review4.) Brooklyn Bridge

The first time we went to Brooklyn, we walked across the bridge & it quickly became one of our favorite activities! Kannon sat comfortably in the stroller the entire way & even took a little nap before we got to the other side to play at the park & grab some yummy food. Thank goodness for a comfy stroller when you’re out & about exploring NYC because it honestly makes naptime the easiest thing in the world! Your little one will always be comfortable because the Viaro features EPS energy-absorbing foam as well as a five-point harness (no little ones will be escaping this one J). Plus, I am obsessed with how large the storage bin under our Chicco Viaro is because you can fit everything you need for a day out around the city & you have access to it from both the front & back of the stroller!Chelsea Market Chicco Viaro Travel System NYC Guide for Kids Chelsea Market Flowers5.) The High Line & Chelsea Market
820 Washington St, New York, NY 10014

One of our absolute favorite things to do was head to The High Line & walk around (aka let Kannon run around until he wore himself out!) & then we would head below to Chelsea Market for some yummy food. There are so many different places to eat in Chelsea Market & they even have a little market where you can grab some fresh produce & go have a little snack up on The High Line. I seriously suggest trying out the fresh Italian food or the taco place! While Chelsea Market can be crowded, I love that our Chicco Viaro maneuvers easily around city blocks with its 3-wheel design & the ergonomically designed handle (which is padded so it’s extremely comfy to push around) makes it so easy to weave in & around people so you’re not running into anyone.

6.) Ferry to Statue of Liberty
Liberty Island, New York, NY 10004

While this is one of the most talked about tourist attractions in NYC, it’s a must do/see! A ferry ride is so fun for the kids & it makes it a perfect day activity. I would highly suggest that you check out the weather before booking though! We went on a gloomy day & while we still enjoyed the experience, it would have been much warmer on the ferry if it was a sunny day. City weather can sometimes be unpredictable, but the multi-position canopy offers maximum protection from the sun, wind and cold. This is the best canopy too because it actually clicks so that it doesn’t go flying up if the wind hits it. Be forewarned though that climbing the steps in the actual Statue of Liberty is very hot & such a small space! That’s the one part of the tour that you can’t take a stroller but other than that, we were so happy to have our Chicco Viaro with us because it’s the one stroller that Kannon will happily stay in, especially with the snack tray attached with a few yummy (& healthy!) snacks J

I hope you guys enjoyed this little city guide we put together for you & your kiddos! While there are so many incredible things to do in NYC, these are our absolute favorite options that are stroller friendly! & let’s be honest, everything is easier when you have a good stroller with you J For those of you in the market for a new stroller, I highly suggest this one! The Viaro Travel System is available at and Babies “R” Us for a suggested retail price of $349.99. The stand-alone stroller can be purchased for $199.99.NYC Kids Guide

Braided Bun Dainty Gold Necklace Mom Style Lanterns in the sky Toddler Style Rise Festival Floating LanternsIf you’ve been following along for awhile, you know that I am all about easy hairstyles. There are those days when I honestly just don’t have the time to worry about my hair & let’s be honest, those days happen far too often over here. I thought I would share one of my new favorites ways to wear my hair & I hope you guys enjoy this easy braided bun tutorial as much as I do 🙂 Also, these photos were taken at The Rise Festival last year & I never had the chance to post them because I got so sick. This was the day that we found out I was pregnant with baby #2 & it was just so perfect to get to go send up lanterns into the sky. If you’ve ever seen the Disney film, Tangled, you know exactly what I’m talking about! If you haven’t seen that movie, let’s just pretend I’m not a 25 year old who still watches Disney films 😉

When we heard the blizzard was going to hit NYC, we were actually pretty excited. While most were trying to catch flights out of town or go into hibernation in their apartments, we were ready to have some snowball fights. This was the first NYC blizzard we have experienced while actually living here (duh, we have only lived here for 2 1/2 weeks) but it’s actually the second blizzard me & Adam have experienced here in NYC. It’s honestly incredible to experience because the whole city shuts down & you are able to just walk around in the middle of the streets while it’s snowing down on you!  We were staying in a hotel at this time so we would run outside & play for 10 minutes & then run back inside to get warm (our SoCal blood clearly isn’t used to cold weather :)) We had so much fun & will look back on these photos years down the road & remember our first crazy week living here in NYC with the best memories. I hope you guys enjoyed these photos & that those of you who experienced storm Jonas were all safe. Thankful the weather has warmed up now!

Four Seasons

Four Seasons Residence Club Aviara

Aviara Four Seasons Residence Club Residence Club Aviara BGAP8092 San Diego Resort Four Seasons Residence Club Aviara Carlsbad ResortThe weekend before we moved to NYC, we were lucky enough to have a weekend getaway at the Four Seasons Residence Club Aviara. I’m still dreaming about our stay & can’t wait to go back someday. The weather was perfect, the property was beautiful, the spa was luxurious & we ate the most amazing food all weekend long! If you’re looking to take a trip this Spring, check this place out because it will not disappoint. I’m going to break down everything we did & tell you all about my favorites below so keep on scrolling to read all about our trip!

*The Room:
We stayed in a 1 bedroom villa overlooking the golf course & it was absolutely beautiful. From the clean aesthetic of the decor to the beautiful rolling greens, it was glorious. The whole setup was one that made us never want to go home.

*The Service:
I honestly was blown away by how accommodating every member of the Aviara staff was! Not only were they willing to help in anyway possible, they were incredibly kind to our 2 year old, Kannon. It’s rare that you find an entire community of people that are that sweet to toddlers. Most places look down on bringing children & I was beyond relieved to see Kannon interacting with everyone at the resort! Plus, they have THE most amazing place for kids to hangout called, Club 760. They have Wii’s, puzzles, books, cars, movies & more to entertain kids of all ages. Kannon was in heaven!

*The Spa:
Who doesn’t love a relaxing day at the spa? The Driftwood Spa offers a plethora of services & the environment is very relaxing. I received the Mother to Be massage & I loved it. I also loved the products they sold. I bought a coconut Argan oil spray for my growing belly & have been using it everyday since! I can’t wait to go back & try out their different services when I’m not pregnant!

*The Food:
I think the food was my favorite part.. & that’s not just because I’m pregnant! We ordered room service both mornings as well as lunch one of the afternoons & everything we got was delicious. Here are my favorites from In Room Dining- Fresh juices (the orange & the green were my favorites), Buttermilk Pancakes with berries baked inside, Protein Power Smoothie, Grilled Cheese B.A.T. (We got it without the bacon).

*Seasons Restaurant:
This restaurant deserves its own category because it was THAT good!! They serve farm-to-table cuisine & literally every single thing we tried here was incredible! The menu changes with the seasons but trust me when I say, EVERYTHING is amazing. If I could eat here for dinner every single night of my life, I would!

I hope you guys enjoyed this little recap of our trip. Sorry it took so long to get it up for you all. With being so sick & then the big move to NYC, life was a bit hectic for a while. I’m so excited to be back blogging full time though & I can’t wait to create a ton of new content! Let me know if there is anything specific you want to see & I’ll get working on it 🙂

Sorry for being MIA! I’ve had very limited access to Internet or cell service & the posts I had scheduled to go live decided to malfunction! I swear something like that happens only when you are relying on it the most haha. All in all though, this trip has been incredible & extremely liberating. Being a blogger, we are constantly on social media/the Internet & I’m thankful for the time I had to just be with my family instead of checking my phone throughout the day. With that said, I’m so excited to start sharing some fun photos with you guys!

These photos were taken in Canada at Lake Louise, which is the most beautiful place I’ve ever been to. It literally took my breath away & I continually stated the entire time we were there, just how pretty it was. If you’re looking for a place to explore in Canada, I highly recommend going here, you won’t be disappointed!!

On another note, how adorable is this fox backpack & dinosaur cooler!? When Kannon saw these, he got so excited & these were his two favorite choices. I honestly am obsessed with this brand & want everything they have. I secretly got this dinosaur for myself.. Cause lets be honest, cool moms carry dinosaur coolers! 😉 Plus, they have diaper bags & lunch boxes as well as backpacks & cooler bags so they’re perfect for both you & your little ones. I’m so excited I’ve teamed up with SoYoung to bring you guys an exciting giveaway on my Instagram tomorrow, so make sure you’re following along!!!

I had the opportunity to spend the weekend with The Bay Club & other crazy talented bloggers/photographers & to say we had fun is an understatement! This was my first experience with The Bay Club & I honestly am obsessed. We got to attend fitness classes & do so many fun activities while we were there, it was the perfect weekend. I am so excited for the Los Angeles location to open because they have so many activities for all ages & there really isn’t anything like The Bay Club here in Los Angeles! I hope you guys enjoyed all of our photos from the trip! We were all definitely BAY CLUB HAPPY!! 🙂

Rancho Bernardo Inn

Pool Day

Rancho Bernardo Inn Rancho Bernardo Inn Rancho Bernardo Inn Rancho Bernardo Inn Rancho Bernardo Inn Rancho Bernardo Inn Rancho Bernardo Inn Rancho Bernardo Inn Rancho Bernardo Inn Rancho Bernardo Inn _ARI9917 Rancho Bernardo InnLast week we spent a few days at the Rancho Bernardo Inn & it was the perfect little family getaway! If you read this post last week, you have already heard a bit about our trip. It worked out to be a great Father’s Day present for Adam. In his words, “what better way to celebrate being a dad than getting to play with my son for 3 days straight!?” & that right there ladies & gentlemen is one of the many reasons I love him so much. I really lucked out in the husband department!

As I’ve said before, Kannon is such a little fish & just loves the water so much. Whether it be the bath, the ocean or a swimming pool, he is in his element. We honestly had so much fun having a pool day that none of us wanted to leave. I grew up in Arizona where the Summer’s are HOT to say the least & you were required to either be in an air conditioned building or to have a pool day so you didn’t overheat. So for me, a pool day with the family is always a fun time & brings back a plethora of fun memories growing up.

Don’t mind my glasses in the pool haha! My eyes are still recovering a bit from overuse of contacts so I try to not wear my contacts as much as possible. I will say though, that wearing glasses in the pool with a two year old who loves to splash is an interesting experience. I think I would have been able to see better without my glasses altogether as opposed to having water droplets covering the lenses the entire time 🙂 I hope you enjoyed our pool day photos & a little snippet into our trip. Love you guys!

If you follow along on Instagram, you know that we’ve been on a little getaway in San Diego at the Rancho Bernardo Inn. It’s always so nice to just getaway for a few days & we are so lucky to have so many incredible places to visit just a few hours away. The Rancho Bernardo Inn is such a beautiful property & so amazing for Kannon since they have a “Kids Rule” program! If you’re heading to San Diego this Summer, definitely check this place out because it’s perfect for everyone since they have a nice golf course, swimming pools, amazing food & an incredible spa! This week is already off to an amazing start & I can’t wait for the rest of it since it’s my birthday this weekend! Eek, I’m going to be 25!! Make sure you’re following along on Instagram for all of the fun celebrations 🙂
