Olay Regenerist Whip Fragrance-Free Review

683 1024 Sheridan Gregory

If you’re new around here, let me start by saying that I am skin care obsessed. I truly believe skin care should be a big priority in everyone’s morning/nighttime routines & if you’re not taking care of your skin, I strongly urge you to start now. Our skin is our largest organ & sometimes I feel like people forget that! So, with that said, I’m here to review a new product that I’ve been trying out for the past 4 weeks, the Olay Regenerist Whip fragrance-free!

I heard so many wonderful things about the original Olay Regenerist Whip (after all, it’s their best-selling facial moisturizer) & I was absolutely thrilled when Olay reached out to let me know that they were coming out with a fragrance-free version! (I am VERY sensitive when it comes to scents & so I am a big fan of products that are fragrance-free.) I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this product & immediately put it into my skin care routine to see if everything I had heard about Olay Whips was true.

I am so happy to let you all know that this product 100% lives up to its hype! Olay Regenerist Whip Fragrance Free brings powerful hydration with a smooth matte finish that is light as air. I love that it absorbs quickly into the skin, making it a staple in my morning & nighttime skin care routine. It has helped diminish the appearance of my fine lines while simultaneously hydrating my dry skin to give it a lifted look. I have loved the results I’ve seen already & can’t wait to see the affect this moisturizer has on my skin in a couple more months!

If you’re in the market for a new moisturizer, I would definitely recommend this! I personally think it would be wonderful for all skin types because of the matte finish it leaves on the skin & the results I’ve seen have been incredible. Plus, if you’re sensitive to scents like I am, this fragrance-free version is perfect for you! You can pick up one for yourself at Walgreens & check out the new fragrance-free Total Effects Whip SPF25 as well!

Have you tried Olay Whips yet? Let me know in the comments below!

One Brand Makeup Tutorial | Laura Mercier

1024 576 Sheridan Gregory

Who hasn’t heard of Laura Mercier!? NOBODY. Laura Mercier has been and will always be one of the biggest names in the cosmetic and skincare industry. She pioneered the “Flawless Face”  and has created beauty products that are both innovative and accessible. Her famous long-lasting formula, and soft blur effect, (which are infused into many of her products) have catapulted her line to an undeniable superior level of quality.  On top of all that, her philosophy is, “What makes you unique makes you beautiful.” Her healthy perspective on beauty makes her name one that I know and trust over and over again. With the recent release of her Translucent Glow Powder, I was inspired to create a full Laura Mercier look to pay tribute to her iconic cosmetic line and everything she has given to the world of beauty. Be sure to check out my YouTube video of a complete Laura Mercier face, and read below for a detailed description of all the products I used! Hope you enjoy the video, and of course, let me know all of your favorites!

Foundation Primer- Radiance

This primer is everything! Unlike traditional primers, Laura Mercier has created one that is water-based and designed to feel lightweight and fresh on your skin. With an antioxidant vitamin complex built in, this buffer layer protects against harmful environmental factors that contribute to aging. It is ideal for all skin types and provides a cooling agent that keeps your face feeling radiant all day!

Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Foundation – 2W1 Macadamia

No one wants to feel like they are wearing a thick layer cake of makeup! Top your lightweight primer with this full coverage weightless foundation that lasts up to 15 hours! This foundation’s pigment stays fresh all day (even through sweat and humidity), evening out imperfections and reducing the look of pores. Oil free, fragrance free, and non-comedogenic, this matte finish foundation will leave your skin feeling breathable and flawless.

Flawless Fusion Concealer – 1N & 2N

This concealer uses a blurring powder blend that diffuses light, so as this lightweight formula conceals dark under eye circles and skin imperfections, the blurring powder helps to smooth the look of fine lines and make the skin look seamless. Again, we find Mercier’s high performance long-wearing capabilities at work! With 12 hours of wear, this concealer will stay put with its resistance to humidity, transfer, water, and sweat.

Candleglow Sheer Perfecting Powder- Shade 1

If you’re looking for a powder that sets your makeup without mattifying your skin, then Candleglow Sheer Perfecting Powder is the perfect fit for you. Not only does it incorporate Mercier’s soft-focus effect to blur the look of fine lines and imperfections, but it gives a soft and luminous finish that will brighten up your entire complexion.

Translucent Loose Setting Powder- Glow

I recently attended the unveiling of this product and was immediately obsessed! This translucent setting powder is just as amazing as the iconic translucent powder; however, this time it delivers the ultimate glow finish. Infused with pearl pigments, this powder is lightweight and will lock in your look for 12 hours of wear. It also contains a no-flashback formula to assure you’ll look great in photos, and the soft-focus effect to make your skin look flawless.

Matte Radiance Baked Powder- Shade Bronze 02

This buildable, sheer powder gives your face a natural healthy glow. It can be used to highlight the high points of the face, and blends effortlessly into your skin, while feeling weightless and velvety to the touch. I love to use this powder to create a look that is warm and slightly sun-kissed during the warmer seasons. With a long wear that lasts up to 8 hours, this is the perfect powder to use for soft highlighting on all skin tones.

Blush Colour Infusion- Shades: Chai

Blush Colour Infusion is a silky blush that provides 10 hours of natural-looking cheek color.  This powder uses micro-fine powders to yield a buildable result. You can choose from a sheer hint of color, or build to a bold statement shade! The choices are endless and are designed to enhance all skin tones and types. Available in matte and sheen shades,  this blush feels weightless and will layer flawlessly with liquid or powder makeup, as well as bare skin.

Face Illuminator- Addiction

This long -wearing highlighter powder brings custom light to your face, eyes, and decollatage. Created with the ability to build your own level of illumination, this high pearl powder can be used to evoke a subtle glow, or it can be built to a high intensity strobe. Day to night look, this illuminator can make all the difference!

Caviar Stick Eye Colour- Copper & Burnished Bronze

This eyeshadow stick delivers intense, buildable color for up to 12 hours of wear. Not only is it versatile in that fact that its creamy texture gives you an effortless application, and time to blend and smudge to create any kind of look, but it is also crease and transfer resistant! Created in both shimmer and matte shades, this eyeshadow is a must!

Velour Extreme Matte Lipstick- Vibe

If you’re looking for a bold, long-lasting, ultra-matte lipstick, then this Velour Extreme Matte lipstick is everything you’ve been looking for. Just like its name, this lip color uses conditioners to keep your lips soft and velvety, all while giving a huge pop of seductive color in one single application.

Lip Glacé – Opal

I love to layer lip glacé over my lipstick to create a shiny and fuller lip! With its unique blend of moisturizing, anti-aging, anti-oxidant, and plumping formula, this gloss applies smoothly and provides perfectly-pigmented and long-lasting color. Available in 26 shades, you’re sure to find the perfect match to enhance your skin tone.

properly exfoliate

How To Properly Exfoliate

683 1024 Sheridan Gregory

When it comes to beauty tips and tricks, one of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned over the last year surrounds exfoliation and how to properly exfoliate. Prior to learning the right steps, I’d harshly rub my face with a washcloth or use intense beaded scrubs (which — turns out — are horrible for your skin). But after doing a little research and experiencing more facials, I think I’ve finally got it down!

What is exfoliation?

First off, it’s important to know why exfoliation is key (and what exactly it is!). Bottom line: it’s removing dead skin cells and aiding in turnover of those cells. You could apply all the oils and lotions and serums you want, but if you don’t have a fresh complexion to apply to, those products won’t go further than surface level. And I’m not just talking about your face (though that’s the main point of this article) — your body should also be exfoliated using a body brush or something similar.

I know I’ve had some confusion with things like Clarisonics and whether those truly exfoliate, and turns out, they’re not enough. Those are more for clearing out pores and residue — they aren’t turning over skin cells on their own. Also, as you read this, please know that you shouldn’t use one of the exfoliants with a Clarisonic or a similar device. Those devices can be used often, but should only mix with a very gentle cleanser (like this one).

How often should you exfoliate?

I’ve heard multiple answers to the question of “how often,” but what works for me personally is 2-3 times a week — which my facialist agreed with. This way, you’re properly turning over your cells, but your skin has time to adjust and heal. If you have sensitive skin, you may even try 1x a week to start.

As for when in your day to do it, I prefer nighttime. Once in awhile, my skin will get a little pink after the process (but in a good, flushed way) — plus, I live for the feeling of an exfoliated face followed by alllll the face products. I know, I live an exciting life you guys!

What products should I use?

And now for the best part — the products I love. Like I mentioned above, you definitely want to stay away from anything harsh. Even if you suffer from dry flaky skin, do your best to ignore anything that seems like it’ll strip your skin. I promise that after your skin gets used to an exfoliation routine, your struggles with dead skin will be a distant memory anyways.

OK, but back to products…I personally like to switch up how I exfoliate. Some weeks I’m really craving a mask, other times I just want a simple cleanser to do the work. Up to you!

Face Masks — Face masks feel lux and usually multi-task, so I definitely don’t skip my Sunday masks. Here are some favorites: Ole Henriksen and my new favorite, ARCONA.

Cleansers — Some people use a cleanser like this daily, but like I said, I choose something a few times a week. These shouldn’t be too harsh if you choose to use daily, though: KORRES (I love the whole Vitamin C line from them!) and Philosophy

Treatments/scrubs — Always read the label on these guys because some are more serious than others aka you might only use it once a month or something. But these are amazing: ExfoliKate & the gentle version is incredible for sensitive skin!

Facials — If you can swing it, try to head in for a facial once a month or as often as possible. They can obviously really handle exfoliating. If you’re in the Los Angeles area, I highly recommend Kate Somerville!

After you’re done exfoliating, it’s then time to go into your full nightly (or daily) skincare routine. After a couple weeks of adding this step to your program, you’ll notice your products working even better since they’ll be absorbed.

Let me know if you have any questions! Also, which products do you swear by when it comes to exfoliating? Comment below!

Hi there!

I’m about to get a bit personal & dive into a topic that so many people I know struggle with. Are you ready??

Self Confidence

SELF-CONFIDENCE

We’ve all talked about it at some point & I can almost guarantee that each & every one of us has struggled with it at one point or another and guess what, that is completely normal!

I’d say for most of us, our confidence started lacking in our early teens. At least that’s when I started thinking differently & started being a bit too judgmental towards myself. That whole transition from child to teen can be rough! Oh, how I wish I could go back in time & give my 13-year-old self a big hug! While the teenage years are hard, adulthood can take a toll on your self-confidence even more. Yes, even as an adult I still struggle with self-confidence. After having my two boys, my body has gone through many changes. I know you all might not see these changes in my photos but I promise, that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. Quite honestly, I’m not 100% comfortable showing the stretch marks on my stomach BUT I have finally learned to accept that this might be a lifelong struggle & work on building myself up each & every day. So with all of that said, I thought I would share 5 ways to help boost your self-confidence that I’ve used over the years & am still using now. The good news though? They have helped in the past & are helping again now!

How to boost self confidence Help Self Confidence self confidence help

1.) Stop comparing yourself

The saying “comparison is the thief of joy” could not be more accurate. Trust me, I have struggled with the comparison game most of my life & it is one of the worst things you can do for yourself. While I’m not 100% cured (I still have my moments, I’m human), I try to accept those thoughts & then think about all of the wonderful things I have in my life. Even if it’s just the little things, there is at least one thing for you to be grateful for!

2.) Have “you” time

Before becoming a mom, this thought never even crossed my mind because I had plenty of time to pamper myself. Now, it’s a luxury if I can use the bathroom by myself! TMI? Probably but I’m basically an open book at this point. Seriously though, make time for yourself! No matter how busy you are, find time to pamper yourself a bit. Go get a manicure (or give yourself one if you’re on a budget!), just do something that makes you happy & makes you feel good about yourself. Once again, it can be a small thing or a big thing, it’s just so important to give yourself a little something. You are important & deserve it!

3.) Accept imperfection

NO ONE is perfect. I know we all scroll through social media, flip through magazines & see those “perfect” people on our televisions. Don’t be fooled though, those people are not always as they seem & I’m sure they deal with self-confidence just as much as the next person does. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that accepting my flaws actually makes me feel so much happier about myself. Letting go of the things that you can’t change, will, in turn, change the way you think about yourself. Our imperfections make us unique & it’s about time we all start celebrating our imperfections!

4.) Get moving & get outside

Getting out & about can drastically change your mood. When we lived in NYC last year, it was freezing (I was literally miserable) & I didn’t even want to leave our apartment. Boy, was that a bad idea! Even just a walk around the block made me feel so much better & motivated me in every aspect of my life. A little fresh air & a bit of exercise can & will give you that little boost of endorphins you need to get through the day. So the next time you’re feeling down about yourself, get up, get out & get moving!

5.) Compliment yourself

Look yourself in the mirror & give yourself a compliment. This might feel incredibly awkward at first but I promise that even just one positive thought about yourself, can turn your whole mindset around. We all have something that we like about ourselves. Grab a piece of paper, write it down & put it on your fridge or mirror for a daily reminder. You’ll start viewing yourself very differently when you start being kind to yourself instead of tearing yourself down.

Spring Blush

5 Must Have Spring Blushes

683 1024 Sheridan Gregory

Top Spring Blush Milani LuminosoHappy Saturday!

While it’s officially been Spring for a little while now, the weather hasn’t quite realized there’s been a change of season. Since I can’t break out my warm weather clothing just yet (it’s been freezing & cold here in NYC), I’ve decided that transitioning my makeup is the next best thing! I love Spring makeup because it gives us all the perfect opportunity to bring out those peach/pink shades. I also love a good blush! The perfect shade can completely change your look & give you a beautiful bit of color to your look. Since I’m always on the hunt for good beauty products, I thought I would share my 5 must have Spring blushes! Let’s jump into it..

1. Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso
This blush is a very popular shade & until this year, I had never tried it out. The formula is amazing! It gives you that perfect peach glow. The Milani blushes are super pigmented, so a little goes a long way!

2. Too Faced Love Flush in Love Hangover
Another great option is this shade from Too Faced. If you love the peach look but aren’t a massive fan of overly “glowy” skin, this is the perfect matte option.

3. Clinique Cheek Pop in Nude Pop
This is the first blush I’ve tried from Clinique & I’m obsessed! I had my eye on this nude shade for a very long time & when I finally bought it, I was not disappointed. This gives you the perfect natural sheen to your cheeks & is so perfect if you don’t love a pop of color!

4. Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Fearless
Tarte blushes have a massive hype around them & once you try one, you’ll realize why. The formula is pigmented, they blend incredibly & they come in a variety of shades. This pink is one of my absolute favorites!

5. Milani Baked Blush in Berry Amore
I know, another Milani blush.. I can’t get enough of this formula though! This is my go-to blush for my everyday makeup because it gives me the perfect glowy flush. Plus, these blushes are very reasonably priced, so if you haven’t tried them yet, I highly suggest you pick one up!

Now it’s your turn, what is your favorite blush for Spring!? Have you tried any of my favorites?

JASON Basics

Everyday Basics

Everyday Basics Night Cream Makeup WipesJĀSÖN Gentle Basics – White SneakersDistressed Jeans

There are just some things that I can’t seem to survive without. Sure, I might be acting a bit dramatic with that statement, but I think we can all agree that there are those everyday basics that become life necessities. Those classic products/things that you find yourself turning to day after day & week after week. Those products that keep your life a little bit more consistent. Moral of the story, I have found some things lately that I honestly have been using/wearing daily & I thought I would share those everyday basics with you guys!

First up are these JĀSÖN products. If you’ve been following along for a while now, you know that I have really sensitive skin. While finding products that suit my skin can be a bit difficult, when I do find products that work, I always feel the need to share them with the world. I love this Gentle Basics line because it’s not harsh on my skin, it’s free of all of those nasty chemicals/ingredients, it’s hypoallergenic (yay for all of us who have sensitive skin!) & it honestly gets the job done! These facial towelettes are my new favorite way to remove my makeup pre facial cleanser because they don’t leave my skin feeling dry. There is nothing worse than wiping off your makeup & feeling like you just scrubbed your face for 20 minutes. Another can’t live without is the night cream. This NYC weather has left my skin incredibly dry & that is not a good look for anyone. This cream is ultra hydrating & I love that you can put it on at night & wake up with hydrated skin by morning. Perfect for those of us who love that dewy skin look all year round! Also, you can’t beat how affordable these products are. There is nothing I love more than finding products that work really well & don’t break the bank!

Okay, on to a couple of my current everyday fashion basics! These white sneakers were a major find & I know you guys have seen them before but they are literally on constant repeat. Since being pregnant, I have basically banned heels from my wardrobe & these are the perfect everyday shoe. I love the little snake print detail on the heel! Another favorite? These distressed maternity jeans! They’re the perfect maternity jeans & they’re literally the only pair of jeans I’ve been wearing lately. You know you’ve found some good pieces when you find yourself wearing them daily!

Now I’m curious, what are your everyday basics? I would love to know what you guys are loving at the moment!

Maybelline Vivid Matte

Maybelline Vivid Matte Lip Colors

Vivid Matte Maybelline Vivid Matte Swatches

When I first received these Maybelline Vivid Matte Lip Colors, I thought, “Yay! A drugstore liquid lipstick!” I’ll be honest though, these are not like any other matte lip product I have ever tried. The first application was spent in confusion.. Was this going to dry!? Once I realized that these weren’t a typical matte liquid lipstick though, I started to really get the feel for the product. Here’s what I think about them..

Overall, I honestly really love these! I have incredibly dry lips & most matte products I’ve tried dry them out even more. These are creamy in texture & while they don’t dry completely (they’re more-so a lipgloss formula but matte, if that makes sense!), they last quite a long time! The major plus for me is that these don’t leave my lips feeling dry whatsoever but still give me that matte lip look that everyone loves these days. In fact, they feel quite hydrating, which is very unusual for a matte product in general. They are highly pigmented & come in 10 different colors (my favorites are Nude Thrill, Rebel Red & Fuschia Ecstasy). The only downfalls to these in my opinion? They don’t dry completely so they will transfer pretty easily & the texture is a bit odd when you first apply it & it takes a little bit to get that perfect edge to your lips.

All in all, I really like these & have been wearing Nude Thrill practically on a daily basis. If you have dry lips like I do, I would definitely suggest giving these a try! & even if you don’t have dry lips, I definitely think these are a fun take on matte liquid lipstick! If you’ve tried these, let me know what you think of them 🙂

Braided Bun Dainty Gold Necklace Mom Style Lanterns in the sky Toddler Style Rise Festival Floating LanternsIf you’ve been following along for awhile, you know that I am all about easy hairstyles. There are those days when I honestly just don’t have the time to worry about my hair & let’s be honest, those days happen far too often over here. I thought I would share one of my new favorites ways to wear my hair & I hope you guys enjoy this easy braided bun tutorial as much as I do 🙂 Also, these photos were taken at The Rise Festival last year & I never had the chance to post them because I got so sick. This was the day that we found out I was pregnant with baby #2 & it was just so perfect to get to go send up lanterns into the sky. If you’ve ever seen the Disney film, Tangled, you know exactly what I’m talking about! If you haven’t seen that movie, let’s just pretend I’m not a 25 year old who still watches Disney films 😉

bareMinerals Skinsorials

My 3 Step Beauty Ritual

1024 735 Sheridan Gregory

bareMinerals Butter Drench Skinsorials Clay Chameleon Clay Face Cleanser Skinlongevity Vital Power Infusion My 3 Step Beauty Ritual bareMinerals Butter DrenchThis new year has brought so many fun & exciting changes already. (For those of you who don’t know, we just relocated to NYC :)) With being pregnant, moving & all the other fun things that come along with both of those, I’ve realized once again just how important it is for me to take care of myself. From eating a healthy & balanced diet, to truly nurturing my skin, I needed to get back into a healthy routine.

When I first saw that bareMinerals came out with a skincare line, I knew I needed to get my hands on it immediately. So when I was asked to team up with bareMinerals & try out their new Skinsorials line, you know I jumped on the opportunity! (If you’ve been following my blog for a little while now, you already know how much I love bareMinerals products!) I instantly loved the fact that they had 4 different cleansers & 4 different moisturizers because I knew there would be something for every type of skin. Another major plus? They have an incredible serum, the Skinlongevity Vital Infusion, to complete your 3 step beauty ritual. If you’re not currently using a serum, you need this one ASAP! A good serum will honestly change your skin & make it look so much better & I am loving this one.

When I received the entire line of Skinsorials by bareMinerals, I knew I wanted to find the perfect products for my particular skin type. While my skin tends to be pretty normal most of the time, during the winter it can get incredibly dry (& no one likes dry/dull skin). No matter what type of skin you have though, there is a product that will work for you. Now let’s get into my 3 step beauty ritual!

1. PURIFY

I was instantly drawn to the Clay Chameleon. With Brazilian red clay, papaya extract, bamboo extract & mineral-rich sea salts, it honestly just sounded incredible. I am a massive fan of clay cleansers & I am beyond happy to report that this one did not let me down! I love this cleanser so much because it really cleans & purifies my skin without drying it out. I also love that it goes from a clay to a cream as you massage it onto your face with damp hands. Moral of the story? This cleanser is everything I could ever want from a cleanser!

2. EMPOWER

-Let me start off by saying that the Skinlongevity Vital Power Infusion is a game changer in skincare! I talked a bit about it above but I highly recommend this for every single one of you. This serum is designed to revive and help maintain your skin’s health while reducing the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles. I loved this serum since the first time I used it. I applied it at night & woke up the next morning with skin that was already much more radiant than the day before. I can’t wait to see the long term affects this product has on my skin!

3. MOISTURIZE

The most important step in my beauty ritual for my dry skin — Butter Drench. The name alone made me smile & then I opened it up to find the most luxurious face cream. It’s a dream for dry skin!

While the above three products are perfect for my skin, they might not be the perfect combination for yours. Everyone’s skin is different! I love the Skinsorials line by bareMinerals though because they cater to all skin types & you can get luxury skincare without breaking the bank. That is always a win, win for me! If you guys have any questions about any of the products, sound off in the comments below or send me an email because I would love to give you any information you need. Also, let me know if you’ve tried any of these products & which ones are your favorites 🙂
