There are so many good picks this time around & I went through & found my absolute favorites for you guys. All of these options are under $100 & a good amount of these pieces are even under $50.

This past week was so much fun! With the warm weather & having my parents in town, we were constantly out & about doing things. Unfortunately though, I think I might have overdone it a little bit because I took a little trip to the hospital yesterday (my doctor was on call & wanted me to come in). I was having some contractions as well as pressure, cramping & lower back pain so they wanted to make sure I wasn’t in preterm labor. Everything is alright though! Baby boy is just really low already, measuring over 3 weeks ahead in size & I’m a bit low on fluid. So I’ve been told to take it easy for a little while & let things calm down. Which is very hard now that the weather here in NYC is finally feeling like Spring! But I’m going to be walking a lot less & taking more cars to make sure this baby boy makes it to full term!

On to this look though! We went to an event this past week with my parents & it was the perfect excuse to get dressed up a bit. I love this black lace up dress paired with these over the knee boots! I threw on this white vest to break up the all black look & while this vest is old, I still love that it makes a look layered without adding too much on a warmer day/night. I’ll never get sick of a classic black & white look 🙂

I wore this look to meet up with our friends Julie & John who were in town from LA. It was perfect for a casual brunch & it was so fun seeing friends from back home! (If you don’t already, check out Julie’s blog, you will love following her!) Funny story, it started pouring right before we walked home so we ended up soaking wet by the time we got back to our apartment. Luckily we have a cover that goes over Kannons whole stroller so he gets to hang out the whole time & doesn’t get wet or cold! These boots handled the rain like champs & kept my feet completely dry & warm though. They’ve definitely been on repeat & I’m still so happy I found them for such a steal. PS. If you’re in NYC or coming for a visit, make sure & try out Bluestone Lane for brunch! Their Avocado Smash & Green Baked Eggs were SO good that I’ve been craving them both & need to go back again ASAP!

I’ve said it before & I’ll say it again, comfort is key for me. Especially when the weather can’t seem to make up its mind & it rains every other day. Some days I just can’t be bothered to dress up. I’m sure you all feel the same way on certain occasions, right? Perfect, I’m so glad we’re on the same page with this.

I went on a little shopping spree on H&M a week or so ago & when it all arrived, I realized that all I bought was athleisure wear. Thank goodness that it’s “in style” to wear tennis shoes & leggings out & about! 😉 Seriously though, you can’t go wrong with a striped top, leather leggings (faux of course) & white sneakers. These white sneakers were a killer deal at only $30 & I love the snake print detail on the heel. & you can’t go wrong with a pair of leather leggings for $20. (I can’t ever pass up a good deal so you can see why I went on a little shopping spree) This look was perfect for a rainy day! Oh & when I say rainy, I mean literally pouring down on us without an umbrella (ours broke last week) & walking a mile to the subway. We really need to buy a new umbrella, considering we’ve ended up walking home twice now in the pouring rain. I’m blaming pregnancy brain for this one. This life here in NYC sure is an adventure!!

Classic Trench Coat Spring Trench Coat

Building your wardrobe around classic pieces is key if you want your wardrobe to last beyond one season. I’m not really one to try out every “trend” simply because I don’t think that every trend fits every persons style. My theory is, just because something might be currently in style, it doesn’t mean that you should necessarily be wearing it. That’s why I love to have classic pieces to mix & match! In my opinion, a trench coat is a piece that everyone should own. A trench is the perfect transitional coat to take you into Spring. While its light enough to layer, it’s also perfect for warmer climates where you just need a light layer (hello, Southern California!). While it’s still freezing here on the east coast, Spring is just around the corner. So I thought I would do a roundup of my top 5 trench coats for you guys. The ones I’ve selected are from all price ranges & I included a couple different takes on the classic version that I really love. I am currently loving the one I have on in the photos above from Charming Charlie. The black detail around the edges is a fun change from the classic trench & gives it a little something extra. We’re definitely not in Southern California anymore! I’m surprisingly loving these random snow days though. Thank goodness it hasn’t been freezing cold so it will snow & then it will melt a couple days later. With my expanding baby bump, I’m starting to have to find tops that will cover my belly & I love this black and teal shirtdress. While I can still fit in my pants, I definitely can’t button them & have been rocking that belly band. I don’t know why I never used belly bands with my first pregnancy? They are such a lifesaver & allow me to wear my same pants without showing off a little bit too much skin (nobody wants to see that!). Although I’m thinking I might need to start sizing up in my pants in the next month or so because yes, as my belly expands, so does my booty. (Just getting real with you guys here haha :)) I tend to shy away from maternity clothes for as long as possible & just purchase tops a size up so that I can wear them after pregnancy as well. It’s not as easy this time around though because crop tops are apparently all the rage right now & there is no way you would ever catch me in a crop top pregnant! 😉

Black & white will never go out of style. Thank goodness because it’s my favorite color (or lack of) combination. I love that you can add a pop of red & create a fun but chic look. This leopard print dress is so much fun & perfect to transition into Fall. Plus, I love any pattern that looks like you’re seeing spots (my husband isn’t a massive fan of leopard print so the patterns that look more like spots are a win for him 😉 I love the high neck detail & the low back. You can wear it now, before the temperatures drop, or you can layer it up when the days get chilly.  I love transitional pieces because A.) you save money when seasons change & B.) you can mix & match these pieces for a plethora of different looks.

I’m getting way too excited for Fall/Autumn beauty looks & this deep red lip color is on repeat! I honestly can’t get enough of it & it’s a serious struggle to refrain from wearing it daily. In my opinion, it’s the perfect deep “blue red” & since that’s my favorite tone of red, you can plan on seeing this lip color a lot over the next few months 🙂

I love when I find a good graphic tee. Especially when it has a funny saying & it’s incredibly comfortable. I love to take a classic tee & layer it with other pieces to dress it up. (This black vest is on sale & is the perfect layering piece for Fall!) This ‘Nacho Friend‘ tee was too good to pass up when I saw it in Nordstrom! I obviously want to be friends though.. So don’t take it personally 🙂 Also, these black pants are THE most comfy pants ever. I can’t stop wearing them because they are just that good. I clearly have an addiction to DSTLD Jeans… & no, I’m not sponsored by them. They are just my favorite denim brand & I love how reasonably priced they are for the quality. Just sharing the love with you guys so you can experience how great they are! (As if you couldn’t tell that I love them, they are basically the only jeans I wear..)
