5 Christmas Traditions

5 Christmas Traditions

*Special thanks to Zappos for sponsoring this post!

It probably doesn’t come as a surprise that Christmas is my favorite holiday. If you’ve followed along for a little while now, you know that I love celebrating this time of year & I love the little traditions we have. These 5 Christmas traditions are my absolute favorite part of the holiday season & some of them might come across as very basic but I genuinely love celebrating in the most simple ways!

1. Christmas Pajamas & Slippers

This is a tradition that I’ve done my entire life thanks to my momma & I look forward to it every year. There is something so fun about getting new pajamas & it’s such a simple way to get into the holiday spirit! The past few years I’ve added to the pajama tradition & thrown in a new pair of slippers for all of us because I am obsessed with cozy slippers. I seem to have passed that obsession down to my boys as well because they love cozy slippers just as much as I do & get so excited to wear them! We were all so excited to partner with Zappos this holiday season to celebrate their 20th Anniversary & share this exclusive color of UGG that are only available on Zappos.com – They are beyond comfortable & I love this fun navy variation! These would make the perfect gift so head on over to check them out if you or anyone you know is interested in cozy slippers or shoes!

2. Christmas Movies

We watch as many holiday movies as we can throughout the month of December & I never get sick of them! We love all of the classics, as well as all of the cheesy Hallmark & Netflix movies that come out every year. You can find us curled up on the couch most evenings eating popcorn, drinking hot chocolate (white hot chocolate for me & Kannon) & watching a good holiday flick as a family. Those little moments are always my favorite/most memorable every year which goes to show that you don’t have to do extravagant activities to make the holidays special!

3. Holiday Baking

Growing up, baking with my mom & grandma was a yearly tradition. When I moved away, this became a little bit harder to accomplish since all of us live in separate states. I’m so excited that this year we will all be reunited to make my grandma’s caramels, caramel corn & my mom’s homemade hot chocolate! I’ll be sharing all of those recipes with you guys as well as some cute photos next week so stay tuned for that. I’m really excited to give you a little peek into my life & share a glimpse of the most special women in my life.

4. Christmas Lights

I am basically a child when it comes to Christmas & driving around to look at Christmas lights never gets old for me. I genuinely love it so much & look forward to it every year! I try to convince my family to go with me multiple times throughout the season but their love for Christmas lights might only run deep enough for one evening 😉 This year we’re also going on a Christmas train & I’m so excited to do that with our boys because I know they’re going to love it!

5. A Christmas Story

All growing up, my grandma would read us ‘A Christmas Carol’ on Christmas Eve. She has been reading it every Christmas Eve since my mom was little & it’s become such a fun tradition. Even if we were out of town, we would make sure to call her to read it to us because she is so animated when she reads it & it’s just not the same if someone else attempts to read it! It’s such a special thing for all of us & Christmas Eve just wouldn’t be the same without it. About 4 years ago we finally recorded her reading the story so that we have it forever & I’m so thankful that we have that video as a little keepsake. Thankfully she’s still here to read it to us in person & for that I’m forever thankful 🙂

I hope you guys enjoyed reading about the Christmas traditions that mean the most to me & now I would love to hear from you guys below in the comments! Comment below what your favorite holiday traditions are!
