5 Things to Make Sure You Have in Your Closet

When it comes to closet essentials, there are a few items I consider essential for having a complete wardrobe. They’re the things that can be worn a hundred different times, are timeless, and will last for years to come. So, if you want to know what pieces will help you build a capsule wardrobe, then here are 5 things to make sure you have in your closet.

1. Blazer

Is there anything more versatile than a blazer? It can be dressed up with dress, or down with some jeans and sneakers. It’s the perfect layering piece that can instantly make any outfit look more polished. It’s certainly a wardrobe essential and something you’ll have in your closer for years to come.

2. Dark wash denim

A dark wash pair of jeans is a must for me. While, don’t get me wrong, I love a lighter wash as well, a darker pair can be worn to any occasion making them more versatile than a lighter wash. They’re office appropriate for a casual Friday, and can be worn with a tee and sneakers on the weekend – so a closet staple for sure!

3. Ankle boots

While my boots certainly get more wear in the fall and winter months, they can totally be worn with some shorts or a dress in the summer as well. My favorite way to wear them is with some skinny jeans and a sweater, but like I said, they can be paired with a hundred different outfits year-round.

4. Little black dress

If you’ve ever been invited to a special event to find you have nothing to wear, then you probably need a little black dress. I’d suggest finding a more timeless cut so it can be your go-to piece anytime you’re in a pinch. Honestly, you can never go wrong with a LBD!

5. Nude heels

I love a pair of nude heels because they can (quite literally) be worn with anything! No matter what color dress, skirt, or pants you’re wearing, a nude heel will match. They’re also super flattering and make your legs look longer which is always a plus in my book.
