Since we’ve been living in NYC, I haven’t been able to film videos for my YouTube channel. With Adam being busy, a lack of space & full time mom duty with a toddler, it’s been a bit hard to film. I’m so excited to be back in LA next weekend & back in our actual home! (If you’re not subscribed to my newsletter, we’re moving back home to LA to deliver baby boy #2 :)) I promise that once we’re settled again, I’ll get some new video content up for you guys again!
Back to this post though! Since I haven’t filmed a favorites video in ages, I figured I would put together a post with my April beauty favorites instead. I’ve been trying so many new products over the past few months & I have so many things that I want to share with you. Be prepared for more beauty content coming over the next couple of months! Okay, now onto my favorite products & a little description on why I love them so much 🙂
1.) IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream in Light
I’m going to be honest, there are very few BB & CC creams that I actually really like. This one has surpassed any expectations I had & I am completely obsessed! I’ve been wearing this daily since our trip to Hawaii in December & it’s the perfect day to day base for flawless skin. This isn’t like any other CC product I’ve tried because it has full coverage, SPF 50 & it’s anti-aging. The only downfall is that they don’t have a huge shade selection but I’ve found that once on the skin, it matches really well. Definitely check this out!!
2.) Pixi Glow Mist
I’m sure I’ve mentioned this product in past posts but I had to mention it again because it’s an everyday must have. I love to spray this before I apply makeup as well as after I’ve completed my full makeup routine because it gives a beautiful glow & makes my makeup appear more natural after applying powders & such. I think this glow mist will be in my makeup collection for a very long time because I am definitely going to repurchase when it runs out.
I know that matte lips are basically everything at the moment but with my dry lips, I think I will always lean towards a glossy finish. I absolutely love this gloss because it can be worn by itself (it’s not highly pigmented but gives a nice pink sheen for Spring/Summer) or it can be worn over lipsticks to give your lips a fuller look. Also, it’s not super sticky so you don’t have to worry about your hair getting stuck to your lips 🙂
4.) Tarte Swirl Power Contour & Bronzer Brush
This brush became a favorite the first time I used it! I use this daily to apply my contour/bronzer & it makes the application process SO quick. You can use this for a very natural contour & for a more dramatic contour. If you’re looking for a contour brush, try this one. You won’t be disappointed!
Mary Lou Manizer was the first highlighter I ever purchased & I still love it! While I can’t find this trio online anymore, you can purchase all 3 separately. I love to use all three shades as eyeshadows as well.
6.) Jouer Luminizing Liquid Highlighter in No 2 Golden Light
If you couldn’t tell, I clearly love a ‘glowy’ look 🙂 I have been applying this liquid highlighter to the highpoint of my face after applying foundation & it gives the most beautiful natural glow. This is perfect for those “no makeup, makeup” days & is build able for a night out. I love this formula!
7.) NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Milan
While I’m not a massive fan of most matte lips because I have dry lips, I really like this formula because it’s not overly drying & doesn’t flake off. I usually top it with the Dior lip gloss I mentioned above to add a bit of hydration & shine.
8.) Jordana Easy Liner in Baby Berry
I absolutely looove these lip liners!! They can be worn on their own & they feel super hydrating. Plus, they are such a steal of a deal at only $3 that if you haven’t already, you need to give these a try!
9.) Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop
This is probably the most popular highlighter at the moment but if you haven’t tried it yet, jump on the bandwagon already because it’s that good! The formula is so buttery & applies flawlessly. Be careful though, these shatter very easily as well, so if you’re traveling with it, I suggest carrying it on the plane with you instead of packing in your check on.
10.) Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara
When this got sent to me, I knew I immediately wanted to try it. This is such a great mascara & I love the curved brush because it makes application incredibly easy. I love the way this makes my lashes look & I love that it doesn’t smudge or flake on me throughout the day.
& there you have it, my April Beauty Favorites 2016! I would love to know what your favorite products are lately so make sure & leave a comment below. I am always wanting to try new products & love your guys suggestions 🙂
