The amount of love you have for your kids is honestly unbelievable. As I’m writing this, I’m currently holding Hendrix in my arms while he sleeps peacefully & it’s hard for me to focus because I just keep staring at him. Every second is a constant reminder of how blessed I am & I truly couldn’t be more thankful for everything I have. I was nervous before he was born because I had no idea how it would be to have 2 kids, but the second he was placed into my arms, I felt like he had always been there apart of our family. It’s a hard feeling to explain but it was the most comforting feeling in the world.
Early Thursday morning, I woke up because my contractions were getting too uncomfortable for me to sleep any longer. After a shower & timing them for awhile, we decided to head into the hospital just in case it was the real deal. After being monitored for a little while, I was admitted & the realization that we would be meeting our baby boy soon set in! I was in labor basically the whole day Thursday but luckily I wasn’t in very much pain until around 5pm. With my first delivery, I got an epidural & it unfortunately didn’t work very well. I could basically feel everything & I had some complications with hemorrhaging after I delivered Kannon & so I kind of prepared myself for that to all happen again. Luckily though, my epidural worked like a charm this time & I had the easiest delivery possible, even though he was 9 1/2 lbs! I’m so thankful my recovery has been as great as it has been because I’m able to still be a present mom to Kannon while caring for Hendrix as well. Also, my sweet husband & mom have been such a big help this past week & I’m so thankful to have the best family!
I honestly can’t believe that Hendrix is already 1 week old! I already feel like time is going by so fast & so I’m cherishing all of the newborn snuggles while I can. It’s also unbelievable how much Kannon & Hendrix look alike!! We’ve been comparing baby photos & it’s honestly hard to tell them apart. We’re definitely going to need to label all of their baby photos so we don’t get mixed up!
We’ve been super lucky so far with Kannon getting used to having a baby brother (I’m sure we will have an adjustment period at some point) but we’ve been trying really hard to incorporate all of the tips we’ve heard/read over the past months & they seem to be working really well. Kannon loves being a big brother & he is beyond sweet with Hendrix, it melts my heart to watch them together.
