Best Books for Valentine’s Day

Who’s ready for a roundup of the best books for Valentine’s Day?

I’m going to be completely transparent with you. Up until last year, I wasn’t a major “romance” genre kind of girl. I had the idea in my head that they were all like the old romance novels (I.E. the book Rachel reads in that Friends episode haha). Silly, I know!

With everything that has happened in the world the last year, I needed happy, easy reads. Which is where a newfound love for contemporary romance novels began! I am pretty positive that Contemporary Romance is now my favorite genre of book because they give me the warm fuzzies. Plus, they just make me happy!

With that said, I figured February was the perfect time to share the best books for Valentine’s Day & put together a round up of my favorites. Some are oldies but all are great reads that I highly recommend if you’re looking for a lovely read.

Sound off in the comments below with your picks for the best books for Valentine’s Day. I’ll continue to add to this list with your recommendations as they come in so that we have a well rounded list!

This Time Next Year Book Review

This Time Next Year by Sophie Cousens

Minnie Cooper knows two things with certainty: that her New Year’s birthday is unlucky, and that it’s all because of Quinn Hamilton, a man she’s never met. Their mothers gave birth to them at the same hospital just after midnight on New Year’s Day, but Quinn was given the cash prize for being the first baby born in London in 1990–and the name Minnie was meant to have, as well. With luck like that, it’s no wonder each of her birthdays has been more of a disaster than the one before.

When Minnie unexpectedly runs into Quinn at a New Year’s party on their mutual thirtieth birthday, she sees only more evidence that fortune has continued to favor him. The gorgeous, charming business owner truly seems to have it all–while Minnie’s on the brink of losing her pie-making company and her home. But if Quinn and Minnie are from different worlds, why do they keep bumping into each other? And why is it that each fraught encounter leaves them both wanting more?

I absolutely LOVED this book! I expected a cute, love story & this book surprised me with being so much more than that. The characters throughout are like-able, well developed and have real life matters. Which made them completely relatable.

The story takes place over a years time, with a few flashbacks from earlier years. The storyline kept me invested in every character the whole way throughout. I loved that the story was hopeful without being cheesy. Which is just one trait that sets this book apart from others.

I couldn’t put this book down and think it’s a must read if you’re looking for a witty, feel good story!
