Father’s Day Plans

683 1024 Sheridan Gregory

We love any excuse to celebrate as a family & celebrating Adam is always so much fun because we end up having the best family adventure day! Since Hendrix’s birthday falls on Father’s Day this year, we decided to celebrate a little bit early so that they both had the opportunity to celebrate their special days. Adam loves activities so we planned the day around some of our favorite things which included yummy food, the carousel, the ferris wheel and a day spent running around with our boys.

The day was a complete success & I can’t get enough of their matching outfits! I think this might be the first time that we’ve ever had all 3 of them match & it melted my heart watching them all run around together in this cute pineapple print from Old Navy. If you guys haven’t already, you need to check out the fun summer prints Old Navy has! They have matching styles for the whole family (boys & girls included) & I love how colorful all of the different styles are. I have my eye on this watermelon print as well & might need to order before our next trip because you guys know I never miss an opportunity for a fun photoshoot.

We were so excited to partner with Old Navy again because they’re celebrating dads this month in honor of Father’s Day & using the hashtag on socials #dadtakes so we can all share the hilarious things that dads get up to with their minis. If you know Adam, you know that he is always having fun & doing hilarious things with Kannon & Hendrix so I thought this was the perfect fit & I’m excited to share more of his #dadtakes over the next few weeks so make sure you’re following along so you can see all the fun moments!

Road Trip To Monterey

768 1024 Sheridan Gregory

I absolutely love road trips, and try to go on them as much as my schedule allows. I think it’s such a great way to spend time with the family, and introduce the boys to new places and fun adventures. We were recently lucky enough to be given a Lexus RXL to test out, so we took the opportunity to pack up the family and head up to Monterey.  Besides the famous Pebble Beach, we were excited to see what else this city had in store for us. And man, did we have a blast! Here’s what we did…

Monterey Bay Aquarium

One of the most exciting attractions Monterey has to offer is the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Located in Cannery Row, this is an absolute must see, and if you’re at all into the mysterious nature of the deep sea, well, this place will just blow your mind. The Open Sea exhibit is reason enough to go check this place out. Holding 1.2 million gallons of water, this is the aquarium’s largest tank, with one of the biggest viewing windows in the whole world. From sea turtles and jellyfish, to hammerhead sharks, and tuna, this exhibit has it all. It was even the first to house 6 great white sharks over a period of 7 years (crazy, right?)!  Other exhibits include a massive three story kelp forest, and a habitat tank that represents marine life from Monterey Bay. With awesome efforts to inspire and improve conservation of the oceans, this place is a fun-filled and educational adventure that will leave your entire family in awe and wonder.

Cannery Row

Back in the day, Cannery Row was a site lined with sardine canning factories. Today,  it is a scenic waterfront street (made famous by John Steinbeck), home to great restaurants, hotels, and historic tourist attractions; some residing in old cannery buildings.  Cannery Row’s offshore area is the Monterey Bay Marine Sanctuary. This is an awesome place to rent a kayak, or go out on a guided tour to see the marine life. You will also find the famous 18 Mile Coastal Recreational Trail. This paved trail can be explored by by foot, bicycle, or even a surrey rental! How adorable is that?! We didn’t get a chance, but rumor has it that if you take this trail up to Point Pinos Lighthouse you will find the most stunning, spectacular, view.

Dennis the Menace Park

If you have kids then you absolutely have to check this place out because your kids will have a blast! Located in El Estero Park, the creator of the Dennis the Menace comic strip helped establish this playground back in 1956. With large slides, a suspension bridge, a hedge maze, a climbing wall, a zip line, climbing nets, and a giant ship, your kids will be able to run around for hours and tire themselves out, while parents find a nice spot to picnic and overlook the lake.

17 Mile Drive

This is one of the most scenic drives in the world. Follow the red-dotted line and it will take you past the most beautiful beaches, gorgeous golf greens, dramatic cliffs, and enchanting forests. Some of the main attractions along this drive are Cypress Point, Bird Rock, Fanshell Beach, Pescadero Point, and Seal Point. Stop at one of the most photographed trees in the world, the Lone Cypress (the official symbol of Pebble Beach), walk along the Spanish Bay Boardwalk, play a round of golf at Pebble Beach, or watch the sunset at Cypress Point Lookout. If you have kids, perhaps stop by Seal Rock or Bird Rock, which is swimming with sea lions and other marine life. Needless to say, there is so much to see and do here. For $10.25 per vehicle, it is an experience not to be missed!

Fisherman’s Wharf

This place is a tourist’s dream! Lined with seafood restaurants overlooking the water, souvenir shops, and candy stores, Fisherman’s Wharf, is a place to walk around and take in the bay breeze. You can go whale watching, or sailing on the bay from here. And don’t forget to check out the historical center of Monterey at the entrance of the wharf.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my little guide to Monterey! If you ever get a chance to visit, it’s an awesome place to see the best of what California has to offer! Be sure to comment below with some of your favorite places to visit in California, and maybe we’ll just have to make a trip!

Halloween Costumes with JCPenney

683 1024 Sheridan Gregory

Halloween is almost here & we are enjoying all of the festivities before the holiday has come & gone. We’ve been to the pumpkin patch 4 times already & as you can tell from these photos, the boys are still obsessed.  Adam & the boys LOVE Halloween & it’s so fun to see the excitement in all of their faces every time we do something festive. Kannon has been begging to carve pumpkins & I’m so happy we’re back in town just in time to carve them before Wednesday!

Now, I don’t know about you guys but with how quickly the year has flown by, we were a little late to picking out the boys Halloween costumes. The boys couldn’t make up their minds & we have been traveling so much that we completely procrastinated. We were all so excited to partner with JCPenney on this post though because it made the process SO easy & the boys couldn’t wait until Halloween to wear their Buzz Lightyear & Flash costumes! We introduced Hendrix to Toy Story recently & Buzz is by far his favorite character so he completely freaked out when we put him in this costume for the first time. Holidays are so much fun with kids, I can’t handle it!!

If you’re still on the hunt for a costume (or anything Halloween related), head on over to JCPenney because they’re having killer deals. With savings so good, we might be stocking up on our Halloween costumes & décor for next year!!

What are you (or your kids) going to be for Halloween this year? Comment below!

Goodbye Summer, Hello Kindergarten

683 1024 Sheridan Gregory

I can’t believe that the end of summer is near. This summer completely flew by & now we’re soaking in every last minute together & saying goodbye summer, hello Kindergarten. We’ve been exploring our new area & finding so many fun things to do with the boys before Kannon starts Kindergarten. (I still can’t believe he is starting Kindergarten already, it’s breaking my heart that he’s so grown up but I’m also so incredibly proud of the little boy he has become.) These photos were taken at a nearby park that has so many fun things including a zoo & a train. Our boys are already begging us to go back so if you’re in the Orange County area, make sure to check out the Irvine Regional Park.

back to school back to school kindergarten back to school sale

With the impending school year drawing nearer, we have begun all of the back to school prep. I’m not going to lie, the back to school prep was always my favorite & I’m beyond thrilled that I get to do it with Kannon now! The back to school clothes shopping is definitely my number one favorite, followed closely in second with all of the school essentials like a new backpack, pencils, notebooks & all of those necessities. Please tell me I’m not alone & that you guys loved the back to school prep as much as I did!?

If you guys remember from this post we did a few months back, we love the brand Joules & we were so excited when they asked us to partner again for a back to school post! Kannon loves to pick out his own clothes & he had so much fun going through their website to find some pieces for his back to school wardrobe. Like mother like son! How cute are both of the boys dinosaur tee shirts here & here? I’m also loving Kannon’s red cords for a change from our favorite denim jeans! I’ve linked all of our favorites below if you guys are currently shopping for back to school or for an updated fall wardrobe because Joules has so many cute options right now & you guys can get 20% off your purchase with the code KANNON20 – Which makes this the perfect time to do some shopping for the whole family!

Now for all of you parents out there, are your kids starting school? If so, are you jumping for joy or shedding a few tears in the parking lot after school drop off!? Sound off in the comments below!

-This adventure backpack is perfect for younger kids starting school or perfect for little ones to take on a trip!

-Kind of obsessed with this rocket backpack as well though & I might have to purchase because Kannon is obsessed with all things rockets & space!

-This polka dot dress is a new favorite. It’s perfect to transition into fall with a cardigan or sweater over top!

-I can’t wait to have Adam & Kannon match in their blue plaid button ups! You guys know I love matching 🙂

-These striped dresses are my favorite. The fabric is high quality & they’re are the perfect classic piece for your wardrobe. I also have this fluted sleeve style that I love & wore in this Instagram!

A Must Have Household Item

1024 536 Sheridan Gregory

Health is a super important topic around our household. We are trying to teach our boys at a young age how important it is to take care of their bodies so that they can live a happy & healthy lifestyle. So, we have quite a lot of conversations about what we put into our bodies as well as what we put on & around our bodies because both topics are very important, especially for young developing bodies!

febreze one review

I can’t even begin to tell you how happy I was when I discovered Febreze ONE! Unlike other air fresheners, Febreze ONE is gentle AND effective in cleaning away odors but has no aerosols, dyes or heavy perfumes. It comes in 3 lovely, fresh scents, Mandarin, Bamboo & Orchid that eliminate odors all over your home. Let’s be honest here, I live with 3 boys & the smells can be pretty extreme sometimes! Hence the reason I was incredibly excited when I found Febreze ONE!

All 3 scents smell amazing & I love knowing that I’m not spraying heavy fumes/strong-smelling cleaning agents into the air. If you have been on the lookout for an air freshener that you can feel good about spraying around your kids, look no further! I highly recommend giving Febreze ONE a try! & if you’ve tried it before, sound off in the comments below which scent is your favorite! I can’t seem to make up my mind on which smells the best (because they all smell amazing) but I think I’m leaning toward the Mandarin scent 🙂  All of Febreze ONE’s light, simple scents are available at most retailers nationwide for $4.99 so head to your local store to pick up your new favorite scent! There’s also a great coupon available in P&G brandSAVER: BUY ONE GET ONE FREE* starting July 29, 2018 – August 25, 2018. Click HERE to get the coupon! (*Up to $5.00)

Summer Bucket List

683 1024 Sheridan Gregory

Since we are already halfway through July, I thought it would be fun to put together a little ‘2018 Summer Bucket List’ filled with the activities we want to do before the end of August. Kannon starts kindergarten the end of August & it is blowing my mind that he’s already so grown up! So, with that said, we got together as a family & put together this list. Once you’ve gone through it, try to guess who came up with what ideas & comment below 🙂

Before we dive into the list though, can we take a minute to talk about these photos! Every time we take family photos my heart bursts. Documenting every stage of our boys’ lives is one of my absolute favorite thing about blogging. Per usual, we got our outfits from Old Navy & I know I’ve said this before, but I love taking our whole little family in & watching everyone pick out different pieces for a fun family photo shoot! I love the Americana vibe from this shoot & think these pieces are perfect for summer. I’ll link everything below for you guys in case you’re in need of a few new looks to finish the summer out with. You guys know how much we love Old Navy, especially for the boys’ clothes, because they have the best deals & the clothes last for ages! Check out this post to see what I mean!

With that said, let’s dive into our summer plans!

2018 Summer Bucket List

Bonfire on the beach

Bonfires have always been one of my favorite activities EVER. Growing up in Arizona we would have them in the middle of the desert & roast marshmallows & just have the best time. Now that we live in Orange County, we are close to beaches that allow bonfires & I can’t wait to take the boys & eat alllll the s’mores!

Road Trip

I grew up taking road trips my whole life & we’ve kept on with that tradition. Some people think we’re crazy to spend so much time in the car with 2 kids but some of my favorite memories are the adventures we’ve had on road trips together. I’m not sure where our road trip will be to this summer since Adam & I promised each other we wouldn’t make any travel plans for the months of July & August so the boys could get settled in our new place & not feel even more chaos. BUT I am excited for a little (or big) road trip to explore & have another fun adventure together as a family.

Disneyland

I think you could all probably guess who chose this one 🙂 BUT I’m very excited because Adam & I have made plans to do a Disneyland date without the boys as well! The last time we went to Disneyland without kids was when I was pregnant with Kannon & let’s be honest, I wasn’t very much fun in a wheelchair haha. We’re very lucky because we just moved even closer to Anaheim & so I’m sure we’ll be having many more Disneyland adventures in our future.

Backyard Camping

So technically we don’t have a full backyard but since we have a nice sized patio now, we thought it would be fun to set up a tent & let the boys experience camping in the only way I would enjoy camping haha. I won’t lie to you guys, I’ve done a lot of camping in my life & I just don’t love it. I’m terrified of bears & loathe insects! So the only way I truly enjoy camping is on the beach or in a backyard. Since Hendrix isn’t the best sleeper outside of his own crib, we thought “backyard camping” would be the perfect way to go about it.

Water Park

I should probably start researching our options for this one because the only water parks I know nearby are Knott’s Soak City & Legoland but I’m sure there are so many more options that I just don’t know about. We’ve been in a heat wave this past week so we will probably be doing this one very soon!

Farmer’s Market

I am so excited because I LOVE farmer’s markets & apparently, there are some really great ones here in Orange County! I’m thinking that we will probably do this one year round but I’m so excited to check out the ones down here & see what they have to offer!

Baseball Game

We’ve only taken Kannon to a baseball game a couple of times & he was pretty little both times so I doubt he even remembers them. Adam LOVES baseball & while it’s not my favorite sport to watch, a baseball game is always a fun time! Plus, Hendrix hasn’t ever been to one so I think this summer is the perfect time to go.

Those are our big plans for the rest of the summer & I’m very excited to check each one off of our list! If you have a summer bucket list, let me know what you’re most excited for in the comments below. I love hearing from you guys!

Father’s Day Plans

683 1024 Sheridan Gregory

How is Father’s Day already here!? This year is absolutely flying by & it’s freaking me out! Although I am beyond happy that it’s finally summer so bring on the beach & pool days! Seriously though, I can’t wait for all of the summer festivities to truly begin!

old navy mens summer old navy toddler boys old navy summer sale

Since we just moved last week, we weren’t able to go on a fun adventure for Father’s Day this year BUT that didn’t stop us from living out a tropical getaway here at home. How fun are these Old Navy prints? We’re obsessed! I love the little ‘Mini Me’ moment with Adam & Hendrix, it’s so adorable I can’t handle the cuteness! I also love how much Kannon loves picking out his own clothes these days. He loves going into Old Navy & choosing his favorite pieces. Seriously, these boys melt my heart on the daily!

With Father’s Day coming up on Sunday, I thought it would be fun to share our favorite things to do on Father’s Day with you guys & hear what your traditions are in the comments below. We like to spend every holiday on some sort of adventure, whether that is on a trip or out & about here in LA. For Father’s Day this year we are embracing this warm weather & going to spend the afternoon having a picnic on the beach. To be honest, the beach is always our go-to because it’s our happy place. The boys are the most content when they’re playing in the sand & water, it amazes me how much the beach calms Hendrix (he’s our spirited little guy & always on the move)!

If you’re still on the hunt for some fun summer clothes, don’t miss out on the sale Old Navy is having! Up to 50% off the entire store 6/11-6/19! You guys know we love Old Navy for the whole fam so we never miss out on these killer sales!

On a random note, I just pulled out a box of clothes from when Kannon was a size 2T for Hendrix & I found so many fun Old Navy pieces! It made me smile thinking of the fun memories we made with Kannon in those clothes & now we’ll be making so many more memories with Hendrix in the same pieces. My boys are growing up too fast guys, someone slow down time ASAP because Hendrix will be 2 this weekend and I’m freaking out a little!

Enough of my random rant though, what are YOUR Father’s Day plans/traditions? Sound off in the comments!

new beginnings

New Beginnings

683 1024 Sheridan Gregory

As I’m sitting here writing this, our upstairs neighbor is currently building a rocking chair… or a whole new apartment altogether… OR maybe they’re just banging a broomstick on the ground repeatedly. I’ll honestly never know! Although I get very tempted to walk up there & ask if they build things for a living or just like to drop things over and over and over again. Don’t worry, I’m a good neighbor & just let them be. Plus, I’m always a bit nervous it could become a Disturbia situation & no one wants that!

With all of that said though, we’ve been looking to move for quite some time (years to be more precise) & have spent the past year deciding on an area that we want to actually move to. &&& drum roll please… We FINALLY found an area we love & WE’RE MOVING!

Ah I’m so excited I can’t even begin to put my excitement into words! We have become so unhappy with the area we currently live in & have been counting down the days (literally) to get the heck out of here. We’re only moving a bit out of LA so we’ll still be close enough to pop into the city for meetings or to visit friends & such but we’re honestly just so excited!

So that’s basically what we’ve been up to lately. Sorry that I’ve been a bit MIA but with all of our travels & prepping for the move, I have been completely consumed with life lately. I’m thrilled though because we’re pretty much starting from scratch with home decor (except our new bedroom furniture) & I can’t wait to decorate our new space! We’re going to bring you guys along for the whole moving process with vlogs & posts so stay tuned for those coming in less than a month. Holy smokes… Less than a month!! I should probably think about packing at some point but for the meantime, here’s to new beginnings guys!

Now, I could use your guys help! What are your favorite home decor stores? Any small businesses you love that I could order online from? Sound off in the comments below, please! I’m terrible when it comes to home decor & could use all of the help I can get!

Hotel Bel-Air Staycation

683 1024 Sheridan Gregory

It’s a rare occasion for us to have a little staycation here in LA but after our stay at the Hotel Bel-Air, I think we’re going to change that! It’s so nice to get to experience your city from a whole new perspective. Even though we live 15 minutes from Bel-Air, we felt like we were in an entirely new place & the boys loved the opportunity to “get away” without having to travel far.

hotel bel-air los angeles staycation

We chose the Hotel Bel-Air through Ebates & it was the most genius thing we’ve ever done! Not only was the hotel choice perfect for us (if you’ve never been, add it to your list!) but we were able to get 10% Cash Back for Travel Thursday! This was my first time using Ebates for booking travel but I’m already looking for another hotel to book today because who can resist 10% Cash Back? I’ll find any excuse for an adventure. 🙂

ebates travel thursday hotel bel-air review hotel bel-air kids

As you can probably tell from the photos (& if you saw my Instagram Stories), we had the most incredible stay at the Hotel Bel-Air! This was my first time staying there & I can’t get over how incredible the hotel, staff & environment was. From the second we pulled in, every member of the staff was beyond helpful & so kind to us AND the boys (which isn’t always the case with hotels & kids). The entire property is beautiful & we loved that it felt like we were staying at a large estate. With multiple grass areas, fountains & even swans, the boys were in heaven!

hotel bel-air restaurant hotel bel-air food

Another favorite was the food (you didn’t think you would read about one of our adventures & not hear about the food, did you?!). You guys know I’m all about the food when we travel & I’m still dreaming about the blueberry pancakes with a side of potatoes I ate. Yes, they were that good!

ebates cash back hotel bel-air family friendly ebates travel thursday cash back

I also wanted to add a few little tips for staying in hotels with kids because we get asked this quite often. The goal when staying in a hotel with kids is to make them as comfortable as possible. It’s not always easy for little ones to be out of their home environment & so making them feel as “at home” as possible is a necessity. Over the past 5 years, we’ve figured out that bringing all their special nighttime things & keeping their nighttime routine the same makes the stay so much easier. For us, that includes a sound machine, the boys’ loveys (stuffed animals they sleep with every night) as well as their small soft blankets. Your kid’s favorite things might be a bit different but bringing a little piece of home with you to the hotel can make an incredible difference in your stay & is the perfect way to get kids used to travel!

Now to sum up our stay in a few words… It was perfect. If you’re looking to book travel anytime soon, don’t miss out on 10% Cash Back at Ebates hotels and more, today only for Travel Thursday!
