Embroidered Handbag H&M Black Coat BlankNYC Distressed Denim Perfect Messy WavesBasic pieces (like this striped turtleneck & black coat) that I can mix & match will always be the most reached for pieces in my wardrobe. They’re not only great for days when you have “nothing to wear” but they’re perfect for day to day because they can be worn so many different ways.

One of my goals for this year is to utilize a lot of the pieces I have & show the many different ways that you can wear them. Because let’s be honest, most people aren’t going to be shopping every week & buying new clothes! That just isn’t realistic for most of us.

This turtleneck is by far one of the comfiest tops I own! Plus, I love the fact that when you buy a tee, they’ll plant a tree. I love brands that have a great purpose behind them!

4 Things to Add to Your Winter Routine

I love that it’s finally winter-feeling (even in LA!), but I always forget how cold weather comes with dry air and skin and a bunch of other factors. I recently spent some time going through closets and my bathroom to swap out “summer” products items, and have replaced them will things that make more sense for winter. Here’s what I’ve been adding to my routine lately in case you’re interested:

winter essentialsConditioning treatment

I’m decent at taking care of my hair year-round, but with winter comes longer, hotter showers (can’t help it!) and super dry hair. Does this happen for anyone else? Using a deep conditioning treatment 1-2x a week helps a lot for me. Sometimes I’ll even leave one in after the shower (this is the one I’m currently using & it’s super affordable), tie my hair into a bun, then sleep with the treatment on. I definitely have to wash my pillowcase the next day and feel kinda gross, but my hair does SO much better after this trick.

Black furry hood coatHumidifier

Such a lifesaver for recycled air in our home during cold and flu season! Not only does this help us all breathe better, even through sniffles, but it’s great at adding moisture to the air. I notice a difference with my skin and feel better internally. I run the humidifier during the night and like to have a couple in the house. This one & this one are our favorites because they’re compact & can be used anywhere!

h&m black coat with furFace and body oil

I use face oil before bed all year (I’m currently obsessed with this one for morning & this one at night), but during the winter I apply it 24/7. My favorite winter trick is adding a little dab of oil under makeup if my skin is crazy dry. It adds a nice dewy finish and makeup seems to apply better vs. lotion if I’m at all flaky. I also put it all over my body—even on top of body lotion sometimes—after the shower. Ahhhh.

Sheridan GregoryOil diffuser

More oil! Since we’re not opening the windows and clearing out the air as often in the winter, I’m really into diffusing oil. It’s the perfect swap for candles and smoke, and it actually cleanses the air and makes it safer to breathe in. Plus, a little lavender oil before bed is heaven. Eucalyptus is my favorite for day time! This one is a great option if you’re in the market for an oil diffuser!

Life has been non-stop lately & while I love that we’re busy, I also feel like I never have time to do my hair. Thank goodness that I love messy ponytails so much, right? 🙂

Seriously though.. Between soccer practice, karate, work, a new baby, trying to get back in shape, (the list could go on).. I have been feeling like a hot mess lately! I’m definitely not complaining because I love all of the things/people that are keeping me busy but I will say that my mom style has come out in full force lately. I love that “mom style” is a thing though because it makes me feel like it’s completely acceptable to wear basics all the time. I’m going to thank Instagram & Pinterest for that 🙂

I wore this casual look to Kannon’s soccer practice last week & it’s the perfect transitional outfit for Fall. This tee shirt dress is beyond comfortable & with this denim jacket layered over top, it’s perfect for when the weather cools down at night. I jazzed up (yes, apparently I’m 80 years old with phrases like this) these basics with some of my favorite jewelry pieces. This gold necklace is perfect for layering or wearing on its own & a gold watch paired with a hand chain will forever be a favorite.

Since our days have been so busy, we’ve been spending our evenings relaxing & watching our favorite tv shows. We binge watched Stranger Things (like most people) & I’m literally obsessed & can’t even wait until season 2 comes out next year! When we want something light hearted/funny, we always turn to Friends, a classic that will never get old. Now, we’re catching up on Season 5 & 6 of Suits, which is another absolute favorite! If it doesn’t get renewed I’ll probably cry because it’s one of my all-time favorite shows. Just ask my husband, I’m a bit too emotionally invested haha. We’re going to need some new recommendations for when we’re caught up on Suits so..

What are your favorite tv shows!?

I’m officially down to less than 1 week before my due date. I know, it’s crazy to think that anyday now we’ll have another little one added to our family! I’m nervous & excited all at the same time (nervous for labor, excited to actually have our baby in our arms). It’s such a surreal experience & the greatest blessing. We’re just feeling incredibly blessed right now & can’t wait to officially meet this little guy 🙂

I hope you guys don’t mind that I’ve planned some posts ahead of time since I’ll be a bit preoccupied for the first couple of weeks. I promise that content will be back to normal in July though & I can’t wait to share all of the fun things I’ve been brainstorming lately. Be prepared for a plethora of video content, non-maternity outfits (once my mummy tummy goes down haha) & even some fun food posts!

This look was shot with my Summer daytime hairstyle for Maurices & I thought I would share it with you guys now because it’s my perfect casual outfit for the warmer months (pregnant or not!). I love a comfortable dress & this one has such a cute back detail! Also, if you missed my Summer day & night hairstyles, check out my step-by-step tutorials HERE!

I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of a white dress for Spring/Summer. I know I rambled on about white dresses in this post but I honestly just love the classic & clean look! I love that this crochet white dress is perfect for a day out & about AND that you could dress it up a bit by swapping out flats for some strappy wedges. I love pieces that you can transition from day to night just by changing your shoes!

I’m getting so excited to be back in LA so I can be wearing these types of pieces for a day at the beach & in the sun! While I love NYC, you really can’t beat the weather in Southern California. I missed beach days in February! & my skin has become even paler than I thought was possible haha. By the time you read this though, we’ll have just gotten back to LA & I’ll probably be soaking in as much Vitamin D as humanly possible & preparing for baby #2’s arrival! 🙂

If it wasn’t obvious already, I have a thing for lace up details. Whether it’s lace up dresses, sweaters or shoes, I can’t get enough of them! I realize my last post featured a lace up dress & now I’m featuring a lace up sweater, but you win some & lose some. In all reality though, this is just a win-win situation because both the dress & the sweater are perfect pieces for Spring! Plus, while this lace up sweater sold out really fast, I found an identical one & it’s on sale for $25! You guys know I love a good deal & I had to share that one with you!

This week has been incredibly busy so far & I’m really looking forward to a relaxing weekend. While I haven’t been walking as much, we’ve been exploring the city & shooting some fun content that I can’t wait to share with you guys very soon! I can’t believe baby boy #2 will be here in 2 months or less! I honestly haven’t even started preparing or buying things.. Adam says I’ve hit my nesting stage though since I’m getting so antsy about getting everything ready for his arrival. I guess it’s time for me to start getting everything ready! Do you guys have any fun plans for the weekend? Am I the only one looking forward to two full days of relaxing!?

From past (& very recent) posts, you can all probably tell how much I love H&M! It’s definitely one of my favorite go-to stores & I’m completely smitten with their new Spring Collection. This denim jacket is one of my favorite pieces because it’s so versatile & I know I’ll be wearing it all Spring/Summer. I love that I can throw it on with anything & it’s perfect for most any occasion.

We spent a day out and about here in NYC doing a few of our favorite things & this H&M jacket was the perfect extra layer to keep me warm & put together. We absolutely love to go walk along the Hudson River but it tends to be a bit windy along the water. There are so many things to do but you can usually find us playing at the park & watching all of the boats. (Basically a 3-year-old’s dream come true!) Next, we head to one of our favorite cafes for THE best blueberry muffin & snickerdoodle cookie. I’m not even kidding or exaggerating when I say they are the best, either! I’ve eaten a lot of baked goods in my life & I crave these things on the daily! If you’re in NYC, stop by the Sweet Corner Bake Shop & then head on over to Bleecker Street for some shopping. You’ll love the food, beverages & atmosphere!

I’ve said it before & I’ll say it again, comfort is key for me. Especially when the weather can’t seem to make up its mind & it rains every other day. Some days I just can’t be bothered to dress up. I’m sure you all feel the same way on certain occasions, right? Perfect, I’m so glad we’re on the same page with this.

I went on a little shopping spree on H&M a week or so ago & when it all arrived, I realized that all I bought was athleisure wear. Thank goodness that it’s “in style” to wear tennis shoes & leggings out & about! 😉 Seriously though, you can’t go wrong with a striped top, leather leggings (faux of course) & white sneakers. These white sneakers were a killer deal at only $30 & I love the snake print detail on the heel. & you can’t go wrong with a pair of leather leggings for $20. (I can’t ever pass up a good deal so you can see why I went on a little shopping spree) This look was perfect for a rainy day! Oh & when I say rainy, I mean literally pouring down on us without an umbrella (ours broke last week) & walking a mile to the subway. We really need to buy a new umbrella, considering we’ve ended up walking home twice now in the pouring rain. I’m blaming pregnancy brain for this one. This life here in NYC sure is an adventure!!

You all know I love an easy & relaxed look. I love the look of boyfriend button ups but for some reason have never owned one until now. I’m kind of obsessed though & want to live in it. There is just something about a good piece of clothing that looks like it came straight from your boyfriend (or husbands) closet! Oh & you know I can’t get enough of distressed denim. Bring it on Fall! 🙂

My love for florals continues.. No surprise there! 🙂 I love comfy & cute dresses that I can just throw on & head out the door. I also love that I can add a jacket or tights & transition this dress for colder weather. I posted a photo in this dress last week & a lot of you were asking where it’s from. I have searched for it online but can’t seem to find it.. But I just bought it in store at H&M so check there!! I found some similar ones below for you guys as well though. Hope you guys had a safe & fun Labor Day!
