Father’s Day Plans

683 1024 Sheridan Gregory

We love any excuse to celebrate as a family & celebrating Adam is always so much fun because we end up having the best family adventure day! Since Hendrix’s birthday falls on Father’s Day this year, we decided to celebrate a little bit early so that they both had the opportunity to celebrate their special days. Adam loves activities so we planned the day around some of our favorite things which included yummy food, the carousel, the ferris wheel and a day spent running around with our boys.

The day was a complete success & I can’t get enough of their matching outfits! I think this might be the first time that we’ve ever had all 3 of them match & it melted my heart watching them all run around together in this cute pineapple print from Old Navy. If you guys haven’t already, you need to check out the fun summer prints Old Navy has! They have matching styles for the whole family (boys & girls included) & I love how colorful all of the different styles are. I have my eye on this watermelon print as well & might need to order before our next trip because you guys know I never miss an opportunity for a fun photoshoot.

We were so excited to partner with Old Navy again because they’re celebrating dads this month in honor of Father’s Day & using the hashtag on socials #dadtakes so we can all share the hilarious things that dads get up to with their minis. If you know Adam, you know that he is always having fun & doing hilarious things with Kannon & Hendrix so I thought this was the perfect fit & I’m excited to share more of his #dadtakes over the next few weeks so make sure you’re following along so you can see all the fun moments!

summer bucket list

Summer Bucket List

683 1024 Sheridan Gregory

Since we are already halfway through July, I thought it would be fun to put together a little ‘2018 Summer Bucket List’ filled with the activities we want to do before the end of August. Kannon starts kindergarten the end of August & it is blowing my mind that he’s already so grown up! So, with that said, we got together as a family & put together this list. Once you’ve gone through it, try to guess who came up with what ideas & comment below 🙂

Before we dive into the list though, can we take a minute to talk about these photos! Every time we take family photos my heart bursts. Documenting every stage of our boys’ lives is one of my absolute favorite thing about blogging. Per usual, we got our outfits from Old Navy & I know I’ve said this before, but I love taking our whole little family in & watching everyone pick out different pieces for a fun family photo shoot! I love the Americana vibe from this shoot & think these pieces are perfect for summer. I’ll link everything below for you guys in case you’re in need of a few new looks to finish the summer out with. You guys know how much we love Old Navy, especially for the boys’ clothes, because they have the best deals & the clothes last for ages! Check out this post to see what I mean!

With that said, let’s dive into our summer plans!

2018 Summer Bucket List

Bonfire on the beach

Bonfires have always been one of my favorite activities EVER. Growing up in Arizona we would have them in the middle of the desert & roast marshmallows & just have the best time. Now that we live in Orange County, we are close to beaches that allow bonfires & I can’t wait to take the boys & eat alllll the s’mores!

Road Trip

I grew up taking road trips my whole life & we’ve kept on with that tradition. Some people think we’re crazy to spend so much time in the car with 2 kids but some of my favorite memories are the adventures we’ve had on road trips together. I’m not sure where our road trip will be to this summer since Adam & I promised each other we wouldn’t make any travel plans for the months of July & August so the boys could get settled in our new place & not feel even more chaos. BUT I am excited for a little (or big) road trip to explore & have another fun adventure together as a family.

Disneyland

I think you could all probably guess who chose this one 🙂 BUT I’m very excited because Adam & I have made plans to do a Disneyland date without the boys as well! The last time we went to Disneyland without kids was when I was pregnant with Kannon & let’s be honest, I wasn’t very much fun in a wheelchair haha. We’re very lucky because we just moved even closer to Anaheim & so I’m sure we’ll be having many more Disneyland adventures in our future.

Backyard Camping

So technically we don’t have a full backyard but since we have a nice sized patio now, we thought it would be fun to set up a tent & let the boys experience camping in the only way I would enjoy camping haha. I won’t lie to you guys, I’ve done a lot of camping in my life & I just don’t love it. I’m terrified of bears & loathe insects! So the only way I truly enjoy camping is on the beach or in a backyard. Since Hendrix isn’t the best sleeper outside of his own crib, we thought “backyard camping” would be the perfect way to go about it.

Water Park

I should probably start researching our options for this one because the only water parks I know nearby are Knott’s Soak City & Legoland but I’m sure there are so many more options that I just don’t know about. We’ve been in a heat wave this past week so we will probably be doing this one very soon!

Farmer’s Market

I am so excited because I LOVE farmer’s markets & apparently, there are some really great ones here in Orange County! I’m thinking that we will probably do this one year round but I’m so excited to check out the ones down here & see what they have to offer!

Baseball Game

We’ve only taken Kannon to a baseball game a couple of times & he was pretty little both times so I doubt he even remembers them. Adam LOVES baseball & while it’s not my favorite sport to watch, a baseball game is always a fun time! Plus, Hendrix hasn’t ever been to one so I think this summer is the perfect time to go.

Those are our big plans for the rest of the summer & I’m very excited to check each one off of our list! If you have a summer bucket list, let me know what you’re most excited for in the comments below. I love hearing from you guys!

Father’s Day Plans

683 1024 Sheridan Gregory

How is Father’s Day already here!? This year is absolutely flying by & it’s freaking me out! Although I am beyond happy that it’s finally summer so bring on the beach & pool days! Seriously though, I can’t wait for all of the summer festivities to truly begin!

Since we just moved last week, we weren’t able to go on a fun adventure for Father’s Day this year BUT that didn’t stop us from living out a tropical getaway here at home. How fun are these Old Navy prints? We’re obsessed! I love the little ‘Mini Me’ moment with Adam & Hendrix, it’s so adorable I can’t handle the cuteness! I also love how much Kannon loves picking out his own clothes these days. He loves going into Old Navy & choosing his favorite pieces. Seriously, these boys melt my heart on the daily!

With Father’s Day coming up on Sunday, I thought it would be fun to share our favorite things to do on Father’s Day with you guys & hear what your traditions are in the comments below. We like to spend every holiday on some sort of adventure, whether that is on a trip or out & about here in LA. For Father’s Day this year we are embracing this warm weather & going to spend the afternoon having a picnic on the beach. To be honest, the beach is always our go-to because it’s our happy place. The boys are the most content when they’re playing in the sand & water, it amazes me how much the beach calms Hendrix (he’s our spirited little guy & always on the move)!

If you’re still on the hunt for some fun summer clothes, don’t miss out on the sale Old Navy is having! Up to 50% off the entire store 6/11-6/19! You guys know we love Old Navy for the whole fam so we never miss out on these killer sales!

On a random note, I just pulled out a box of clothes from when Kannon was a size 2T for Hendrix & I found so many fun Old Navy pieces! It made me smile thinking of the fun memories we made with Kannon in those clothes & now we’ll be making so many more memories with Hendrix in the same pieces. My boys are growing up too fast guys, someone slow down time ASAP because Hendrix will be 2 this weekend and I’m freaking out a little!

Favorite Motherhood Moments

683 1024 Sheridan Gregory

Family days are my absolute favorite motherhood moments. I’m not just saying that either! Over the past 5+ years that I’ve been a momma, I have found that these days are the most memorable & enjoyable. Sure, they can be a little bit more work because ya know, kids! But the years flash by so quickly & if I’ve learned anything, it’s to enjoy the moments you have with your kids because I swear they’re going to be grown up & moving out of the house before I know it!

With Mother’s Day coming up this weekend, we wanted to do a little outing as a family before we head to Utah for my brothers’ wedding. (If you guys couldn’t tell by now, we love to take every outing & document it with a million photos & videos so that we’ll never forget these moments :)) Since we won’t be home for Mother’s Day this year, we headed to one of our favorite places, the Malibu Pier, to run around & soak up the sun. Although we won’t be home this weekend, I’m beyond excited because I get to celebrate Mother’s Day with my momma this year, (as well as my sisters & grandmas)! We’re going to have a little brunch & I can’t wait to just spend the day with them because it’s not often that we’re all together, let alone to celebrate each other on this special weekend.

On a completely separate topic, I need to give this gingham dress a shout out because I think I might live in it! Holy smokes guys, it’s so comfy & the fit is so cute for every body type (check out Old Navy to see for yourself!). Per usual, Old Navy killed it with pieces for our whole family. Shopping for all of us in one store never gets old & makes life so much simpler. I love the bold prints & colors they came out with for this season. Kannon actually picked out his outfit & it makes my momma heart proud that he has such cute style even at the age of 5. He also chose this sweater & I’m kind of jealous because I want it in my size! Anyways, if you’re celebrating Mother’s Day this weekend & need a cute outfit to wear, go snag this dress & we can be twinning! (PS if your size is sold out online, go to the store & see if they have it, that’s what I did :))

Valentines Day Family Photos

Our Valentine’s Day Plans

Family Photos Valentine's Day Outfits Kids Valentine's Couples Valentine's Day Mother Son Photos Father Son Photos Old Navy Spring Spring Family Photos

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I have all things red & pink on my mind. Who doesn’t love a good excuse to celebrate the ones we love?! I’m especially happy this year because I’m lucky enough to have THREE of the cutest valentines around! 🙂

Like I said above, I love a good reason to celebrate & I love any excuse to get coordinated outfits for all of us. How cute are these ‘Heartbreaker’ button-ups for the boys? I was obsessed the second I saw them & I loved that Kannon wanted to match with his brother. They look so adorable when they’re in matching clothes! Also, I’m obsessed with the fit of these jeans. They are beyond comfortable & I love the mix of different color denim together!

If you’re still in the market for some cute clothes for you & your family for Valentine’s Day (or spring in general), go check out Old Navy! They had such cute pieces for all of us & they always have the best deals. We’ll be headed back soon to pick out some more spring/summer clothes for the boys soon because it has been blazing hot here in Los Angeles lately. I can see a lot of beach days in our future!

As for our plans for Valentine’s Day, we’ll probably be spending the day on an adventure with the boys & then having a date night in when they go to sleep. Are we the only ones who love to have date nights in after the kids go to sleep? We love to order in (or make) food & watch movies cuddled up on our couch. Might sound basic to some but it’s our absolute favorite!

Do you guys have any fun Valentine’s Day plans?!

Staying Active With Your Kids

683 1024 Sheridan Gregory

We are really trying to start this New Year off with a great start & being active is one of our main priorities. Goodbye holiday weight!

keeping kids active olympics tank top father son activities

Our boys are obviously still quite young so our goal is to teach them to be active at this age & hope that it will stick with them throughout their lives. When being active is almost second nature, it makes it much easier to live a healthy lifestyle!

Honestly, getting our boys outdoors, running around & playing with them is one of my favorite things because they are just incredibly happy when they’re playing & out in nature. If you’re a parent, I’m sure you know exactly what I’m talking about! Kids are just meant to run & play! It’s not only good for their physical health but their mental health as well!

Now, I don’t know about you guys but we’re suuuper excited for the Olympics this year!! This will be the first Olympics Kannon can actually watch & understand so that makes it even more exciting for our household. He’s always fascinated by people playing sports & is obsessed with running fast so I can’t wait to see his reaction to these incredible athletes performing! With that said, we loved heading into Old Navy & picking out our favorite Team USA pieces. You guys know that we love Old Navy because it’s the perfect one stop shop for our whole family & new active wear was the perfect motivation for getting out & about! Plus, Old Navy is having an incredible sale (20% off everything today!) that you DO NOT want to miss! Seriously, it’s that good!

Old Navy Pajamas

My Favorite Tradition | Jingle Jammies

1024 683 Sheridan Gregory
Growing up we had quite a few Christmas traditions. While I loved them all, my absolute favorite tradition was new Christmas pajamas every year. This was a tradition that I knew I wanted to carry on in my little family & it just gets better every year as the boys get older! Watching their eyes light up when they opened their Christmas pajamas this year was my absolute favorite! I know I’m biased but how adorable are they in their matching onesies!?
Old Navy Jingle JammiesJingle Jammies
This year, we chose our pajamas from Old Navy’s Jingle Jammies & it was honestly difficult to narrow it down to one pair because they have the cutest selection! (I was also obsessed with this pair & this pair for the boys) Also, the pajama pants I’m wearing are my new favorites, comfy & cute! & how amazing is the print on Adam’s pants? I died when I saw them!!
Growing up we always opened up our Christmas pajamas on Christmas Eve but the past couple of years we’ve been opening them earlier so that we can get more wear out of them. I’ve loved this change so much because I love to celebrate Christmas for as long as I can! Let’s be honest, who doesn’t? 🙂

If you do, check out Old Navy‘s selection because you will not be disappointed! Also, if you’re looking for a last minute gift, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love a pair of comfy Jingle Jammies! (I’m also obsessed with that name & think I’ll call our pajamas that every year now!)

Affordable Winter Family Style

1024 683 Sheridan Gregory

Our favorite time of the year has finally arrived! The temperature has dropped & we’ve already taken our second trip to the mountains. We headed a couple of hours out of LA for a little getaway in the mountains & it felt so good to get out of the city. We all are so much happier when we get outdoors, so I think you could say this holiday season is off to the perfect start!

Since we would be in the perfect setting, I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to take a few family photos. How adorable are all of my boys in their matching buffalo plaid!? I couldn’t resist these little Sherpa & plaid jackets for the boys from Old Navy. All 3 of them were so excited to be matching & I’m not exaggerating when I say that they’ve been wearing these everyday since they arrived because they are beyond cozy. They’re the perfect pop of color for these photos too!

I am obsessed with the Sherpa trend right now & Old Navy has the cutest pieces for the whole family. We’re already planning another trip to the mountains for more of an excuse to bundle up in these comfy pieces! Also, you guys might not be able to tell from the photos but these are the softest jeans I’ve ever worn & I legitimately can’t stop wearing them. I’m all about comfort AND style when it comes to our fall/winter wardrobes, it’s so important!

If you’re in search of the perfect gifts for family & friends, check out these pieces! They would make the perfect gift to cozy up in all winter long 🙂

Trench Coat

Top 5 Trench Coats

683 1024 Sheridan Gregory

Classic Trench Coat Spring Trench Coat

Building your wardrobe around classic pieces is key if you want your wardrobe to last beyond one season. I’m not really one to try out every “trend” simply because I don’t think that every trend fits every persons style. My theory is, just because something might be currently in style, it doesn’t mean that you should necessarily be wearing it. That’s why I love to have classic pieces to mix & match! In my opinion, a trench coat is a piece that everyone should own. A trench is the perfect transitional coat to take you into Spring. While its light enough to layer, it’s also perfect for warmer climates where you just need a light layer (hello, Southern California!). While it’s still freezing here on the east coast, Spring is just around the corner. So I thought I would do a roundup of my top 5 trench coats for you guys. The ones I’ve selected are from all price ranges & I included a couple different takes on the classic version that I really love. I am currently loving the one I have on in the photos above from Charming Charlie. The black detail around the edges is a fun change from the classic trench & gives it a little something extra. I hope you guys enjoy this little roundup of my favorites. If you want to see more of my favorite pieces, let me know in the comments below. Hope you had a wonderful weekend! 🙂
