Embroidered Handbag H&M Black Coat BlankNYC Distressed Denim Perfect Messy WavesBasic pieces (like this striped turtleneck & black coat) that I can mix & match will always be the most reached for pieces in my wardrobe. They’re not only great for days when you have “nothing to wear” but they’re perfect for day to day because they can be worn so many different ways.

One of my goals for this year is to utilize a lot of the pieces I have & show the many different ways that you can wear them. Because let’s be honest, most people aren’t going to be shopping every week & buying new clothes! That just isn’t realistic for most of us.

This turtleneck is by far one of the comfiest tops I own! Plus, I love the fact that when you buy a tee, they’ll plant a tree. I love brands that have a great purpose behind them!

Zara Trench Coat Burberry Trench Dupe Winter Date Night Outfit Black Turtleneck Zara Trench Black Midi BootsDate nights during this time of year are my absolute favorite! There are so many fun things to do that are festive & cozy. My friend Angela actually put together the ultimate list of winter date night ideas & if you’re needing some inspiration, definitely check her post out. Now onto this look, though!

I have always loved neutral pieces. I think they’re the perfect pieces to build your wardrobe & I love that you can mix & match these basics to create so many different looks. This trench coat is one of my favorites & I love that it so much more affordable than the Burberry version (although I wouldn’t mind the Burberry one ;))! Zara coats are definitely some of my favorites because they are great quality while still being more affordable. The two coats I own from Zara have stayed in great condition for 3 years now & I know I will get even more wear out of them!

I know that I’m way late to the game with this double buckle belt but while I was pregnant, I couldn’t wear belts & I since I still loved the look of this one, I decided to finally purchase it. Plus, this version is so much more affordable & you can’t beat that in my opinion!

I’m also loving that turtlenecks are back in. Such classics! & I love this classic black turtleneck. I know I’ll be wearing this all winter because I can wear it so many different ways. I’m thinking I’ll tuck it into a mini skirt with tights next! & these boots are my absolute favorite black boots this winter. I had my eye on them for a while & I finally pulled the trigger. So glad that I did because I know I’ll be wearing them constantly 🙂

I absolutely love purchasing pieces that you can wear a million different ways. Having pieces that you can mix & match in your wardrobe gives you so many more options & in turn, saves you a ton of money on purchases!

This plaid button up is definitely one of those pieces I know I’ll be wearing all season long. I love that I don’t own a plaid print quite like this one & the fact that it’s only $25! Also, I had been on the search for a suede skirt that wasn’t too short & I was oh so happy to find THE perfect suede skirt right before I left for NYFW. (Plus, this skirt is only $89 & is really great quality!) I paired these two basic pieces with these incredible bow flats that I found at Zara & they added such a fun element to the whole look. I’m all about throwing on unexpected pieces these days for a little pop!

Okay, story time real fast.. I’ve talked about how hard it is for me to find sunglasses before but if you’re new here, let me fill you in. I have a veryyy small head & finding sunglasses (or glasses in general) that doesn’t make my head look tiny is a hard task. That’s why I loved the idea of Ditto the instant I heard about it. You can basically rent the sunglasses you want on a subscription basis. Genius, I know! So these RayBans were the first pair I rented & took them to NYFW with me because I have been wanting them for ages. To be honest, I still might purchase them 😉

Happy Cinco de Mayo! Neutrals will forever be my go-to, especially on those days when I “have nothing to wear”! Black jeans, a striped tee & black booties are all staples in my closet. With the addition of a fun leather jacket & a black tassel crossbody bag, you have a classic (but easy to put together) look!

I’ve owned quite a few leather jackets over the years but I especially love the look of this one. It’s the perfect leather jacket for Spring/Summer because it’s not too heavy & you can dress it up or down very easily. It’s definitely one of those pieces you wear over & over again because of how versatile it is. I honestly will never get sick of everyday neutrals because they are the pieces in your closet that you will wear over & over again. I was watching an interview with Emma Watson lately where she was talking about sustainability in fashion & she mentioned that if you can picture yourself wearing a piece at least 30 times, then it is worth purchasing. I loved that because I have so many pieces that I wear continuously & while I might not always purchase sustainable pieces, I do try to keep the majority of my closet full of items I can mix & match for years to come.

I hope you guys are having a great week so far!

At 32 weeks pregnant, I am beyond thankful at the moment for mini dresses. I know that might sound a little strange, but my baby bump has gotten to the size where most normal shirts don’t cover it completely (our little babe is measuring over 3 weeks ahead in size so my bump has expanded rapidly the past weeks). This black and white floral mini dress is on sale & selling out fast but I love the look of it & think it would look so good worn as a dress if you’re more petite. I’m also so happy that I have a pair of white jeans that fit me! I ordered up a size in these from DSTLD so that they would fit better while pregnant & I’m so glad I did because I’m loving them for Spring & Summer. I love the look of white jeans because they give off such a classic & chic vibe even if you’re just wearing basics. I will warn you though, if you have a toddler, be prepared to wash them often or save them for special occasions like date night 🙂

I know I keep saying it but the weather here in NYC just doesn’t feel like Spring yet. I can’t wait for the day that I can wear Spring clothes! Crossing my fingers that happens soon because I have some fun dresses I am dying to wear before my belly gets too big to fit in them:)

I wore this look the other day & if you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you know that I love mixing staple pieces to create new looks. I love having a wardrobe built around easy to wear pieces because it makes getting dressed on those “I have nothing to wear” days, much easier. This chambray & white denim look is perfect for Spring & if you’re lucky enough to live in warmer weather, just ditch the camel coat. I was so happy to break out these new white jeans from DSTLD! I love a good pair of white jeans & think that they can brighten up any outfit (or a gloomy day in this case). These jeans don’t have a ton of stretch, so if you’re looking to purchase, I would definitely size up. Also, this bag is my absolute favorite & I have been wearing it nonstop. I’m debating getting another color because I love it that much! Which color is your favorite??

Let me just get it out there that it was freeeeezing the day we took these photos. Running around for events for fashion week was brutal! I’m obviously still not used to this cold weather 🙂 For all the ladies rocking dresses without tights, I bow down to you! There is no way that I could go out without layers upon layers. I love this black neck tie dress for this reason. You can layer it up with tights & a coat but it’s also perfect to transition into Spring with some lace up heels. If you missed my last post, you can check it out HERE. I talked all about having key pieces in your wardrobe to transition from season to season. Now, here’s to hoping that it’s warm enough to actually walk around tomorrow without freezing!

Red Lace Up Heels

Oh Valentine’s Day.. If I’m being honest with you guys (when am I not), I’ve always had mixed feelings with this holiday. Growing up, I don’t think I ever had a boyfriend over Valentine’s Day. But then again, I only had one boyfriend in general before I met my husband Adam haha. So to me, Valentine’s Day was never really a big deal. It usually consisted of girls nights & spending the night in comfy pajamas.

Now that I’m (somewhat) grown up, I use the opportunity to create a fun Valentine’s Day outfit & get all dolled up. While I love the color red, I love the shade black even more & I tend to stick with an all black look with a couple pops of red. This black tulle skirt is literally a dream! I love how feminine it is & love that it looks good with or without tights. It has been SO cold here lately that there is no way I could wear bare legs! Also, this bag is my new baby & I think this is the first time I’ve ever worn it in a post (pregnancy brain has me forgetting a few things though, so I could be wrong). I only own one other designer handbag & handbags are the one thing I feel are completely worth the splurge. I had been lusting over this red beauty for months & I am so happy I finally made the purchase. Usually I don’t love to be matchy-matchy with accessories, but I loved the look of this bag with these lace-up heels. These heels are surprisingly very comfortable & easy to walk in & they come in 4 colors. So if you’re in the market for a pair of good quality lace-up heels, I highly recommend checking these ones out.

I hope you guys enjoy this Valentine’s Day outfit as much as I do! What are you planning on wearing? Will you be dressing up? Or having a night in with some good food, good movies & comfy clothes? I might be doing the latter depending on the weather & you better believe I’ll enjoy every second of it. Because in my opinion, there is nothing better than a night in 🙂

We’re definitely not in Southern California anymore! I’m surprisingly loving these random snow days though. Thank goodness it hasn’t been freezing cold so it will snow & then it will melt a couple days later. With my expanding baby bump, I’m starting to have to find tops that will cover my belly & I love this black and teal shirtdress. While I can still fit in my pants, I definitely can’t button them & have been rocking that belly band. I don’t know why I never used belly bands with my first pregnancy? They are such a lifesaver & allow me to wear my same pants without showing off a little bit too much skin (nobody wants to see that!). Although I’m thinking I might need to start sizing up in my pants in the next month or so because yes, as my belly expands, so does my booty. (Just getting real with you guys here haha :)) I tend to shy away from maternity clothes for as long as possible & just purchase tops a size up so that I can wear them after pregnancy as well. It’s not as easy this time around though because crop tops are apparently all the rage right now & there is no way you would ever catch me in a crop top pregnant! 😉

Tiny Prints

Hello, Holidays

683 1024 Sheridan Gregory

Tiny Prints Tiny Prints Tiny Prints Tiny Prints Tiny Prints Tiny PrintsHello again, friends! I just wanted to start this post by saying sorry for not posting for the past couple of months. As much as I wanted to, it just wasn’t feasible. In case you don’t follow me on Instagram, we have some really exciting news to share.. We’re expecting baby #2 in June 2016!!! We are beyond excited & feel so blessed to add another little one to our family. I’ll do a full update on the baby soon so stay tuned but I was so sick the past 6 weeks that I’ve basically been in bed the entire time except for doctors appointments. Hence the reason I haven’t been able to post any new content.

On a completely separate note, Hello Holidays!! How is it December already? I’m so excited that it’s the holiday season though!! I love Christmas & it gets even better every year with Kannon. This is the first year he completely understands what is going on & he is incredibly excited for every little thing. If you’ve been following my blog for awhile, you know that we love Tiny Prints for all of our holiday stationary. This year, Kannon helped me choose our Christmas cards, as well as all of our little holiday goodies.  If you haven’t ordered your holiday cards yet, head on over to Tiny Prints because they have some great deals going on & you can still receive them in time to send off for Christmas & the New Year!
