Two Ways To Get Healthier Hair

If you guys have been following along for awhile now, you know I have put my hair through A LOT. I am naturally a dirty blonde but I have been plenty of hair colors from a dark brunette to a platinum blonde. Moral of the story? My hair has been beyond brittle (basically straw at one point) & there are a couple things that I have learned over the years that I thought I would share with you guys!
First, find a good shampoo & conditioner. That seems so obvious but you really need a shampoo & conditioner that will clean & condition your hair without leaving it dry & dull. You guys know I’ve been using Head & Shoulders since I was pregnant (it seriously smells soooo dang good & leaves my hair silky smooth!!!) I had a dry scalp while I was pregnant & even after I got that under control, I was hooked. If you haven’t tried Head & Shoulders, I honestly 100% recommend it because I legitimately use it & I love it.
The next thing I do for healthy hair might also seem obvious but just because it’s obvious, doesn’t mean it is easy.. NO HEAT! Ah those are a horrible combination of words when it comes to hair. When my colorist first told me I needed to stop putting so much heat on my hair, I might have shed a tear or two. For someone like myself who has semi frizzy/semi wavy hair, I usually need to use either a flat iron or a curling iron to style it. If you’re in the same situation, don’t fret because there are plenty of hairstyles you can do without putting heat on your hair! One of the easiest (& my go-to) hairstyles is the one below & while a simple bun may seem boring, adding a fun headband or clip is the perfect way to spruce up a classic.
P.S. You guys can pick up the new limited addition bottles of Head & Shoulders at my favorite beauty destination, Target. Plus, Target is offering a $5 gift card when you buy 3 Head & Shoulders products until 5/16/15! I personally love the Green Apple, the Smooth & Silky and the Almond Oil 🙂
